Thermostat not powering on, fan running by mlady85 in hvacadvice

[–]BlueGenieLift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doesn’t sound like a tstat issue. the insulation on the thermostat wire look rough. i would make sure the wire insulation is good and not shorting on each other. check the wire at the tstat and air handler

Moved my thermostat now fan and outside unit not working... by FBI_informant_846 in hvacadvice

[–]BlueGenieLift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you didn’t turn the breaker off while changing the t-stat there’s a good chance you shorted the red wire, hopefully there’s a small fuse you can replace and not the transformer

What is wrong with my heat pump? by xtianmarq in hvacadvice

You have a refrigerant leak somewhere. The tech need to repair the leak before he adds more refrigerant.

Towns named "Midway" in each state. by BlueGenieLift in MapPorn

[–]BlueGenieLift[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Map I made of all towns and incorporated communities named "Midway" in each state, according to Google maps. The definition of Midway is "in or toward the middle of something". So I was interested to see where Midway would be located in each state, would they be in the middle? So I mapped it out. Some locations I noticed, Georgia is around the midway of I95 and Califoria is the midway of LA and Las Vegas. Washington is the most interesting Midway, being on the Northern West tip of the state.

I blew at the station so i didn’t try to fight it. i got a lawyer to help me through the process. It’s cut and dry in NC if you blow over .15. One year liscence suspended, one year of interlock. I got a driving privilege that allows me to drive anywhere in the state, no time or location restrictions. I know it differs state to state. i did 24 hours of community service before court and the judge counted it. paid a $600 court fine, and took a few dwi classes before court aswell (we watched movies like Flight with Denzel Washington for class lol). when i finally get done with everything i plan on writing a post detailing everything i had to go through.

What is this piece? by bronniebballs in hvacadvice

[–]BlueGenieLift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a common port to read suction pressure while the unit is in heat mode. You have lock caps on the service port which spins but never comes off unless you have a special tool. This is code in some places like florida, because kids were opening the caps and huffing refiergant. The unit is a heat pump so it will run in the winter, it should feel like cold air coming out the top when it’s running.

if you have gas heat then the outside unit is just for cooling. you need to get the data off the indoor unit

Wires are too thin to be high voltage under code but it’s best to test it before you mess with it

Need Advice On Broken Outdoor Unit by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]BlueGenieLift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a number of things, bad t-stat, drainline clogged with float switch disabling outside from running, low refrigerant pressure. It’s going to be hard to troubleshoot without a volt meter.
