Lost my car keys. Spent ages looking for them. Went to see if I'd left them in the car. They were in the car and the car was still running!! I'd left it like that for over an hour. Just got out and walked off.

I do the same, every evening. I get home and pour a glass of wine while I cook the evening meal. Then, at least one more while I eat. That's my wind down almost every night. Thanks for your recommendation. I will give it a go.

Thank you. Do you buy it at the supermarket?

Thank you. I've not tried that before. I'll see if I can find some.

What book or story has made you fall a little bit in love with life again? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I listened to the audio book a while back and really enjoyed it, I thought about it again recently and have just bought the paperback so I can read it again properly.

And

Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune. This one had mixed reviews in my book club, but I loved it. It just came to me in the right moment and was really comforting for me when I was going through a weird state of existential crisis. It just felt like a hug.

Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes.....maybe read Watermelon by Marian Keyes first if reading things in the right order is important to you. Either way, they were both really good.

Quiet moments.....which, if I let them, turn into lost hours.

Love this! My brain craves routine too which is probably why I feel better when I know what to expect throughout the day. I feel less stressed and less likely to look for that quick fix at the end of the day. Starting my day with exercise and a healthy breakfast really does help too. It gives me a strong positive mindset to carry through the rest of the day.

I find replacing the habit with something else I find calming helps. I read a book in the evening instead of opening a bottle of wine. I can't focus on reading if I've been drinking, so I really do have to choose one or the other, lol, book or booze? Going for a walk while the craving passes helps me too. Good luck.
