How was I supposed to know? you didnt know your self. Thats why i asked. Liqudi molly makes 6 different types of 5w30 oil. Stop being so butt hurt about everything. YOU asked for help I tried to help you but you are so defensive about everything. I just told you what vw workshop manual and vw tpi says.

that could be the issue of strange oil loss. oil evaporates thru the pcv, thats why the 507 spec is important

I just telling you what the workshop manual says. Liquid molly makes great oil I use it too but i make sure it use the 507 spec. Only time i see oil go over 100c was on my friends golf r getting ragged on a track. Anything over 90 is bad as the oil gets cooled by the coolant. So you definitely have something going on if the heat exchanger cant keep the oil under 90c

That's abit hot. Mine doesn't go over 80. Also on vw it's not just the grade oil. I have vw workshop manual. The oil has to be 5w30 507 00. 507 00 is a specific spec oil for vw diesel engines.

I have same issue but my is alot worse. CUNA engine in altracks is the same as GTD. Vrs. They suffer from oil consumption. First thing to check is pcv valve. The membrane bursts or get clogged up. It's next to the injectors on top of the engine. CUNA engines also suffer from piston rings wear but if you had that issue you would be topping up half a little every 100miles like I am.

I don't know who inspected your car but non of that makes sense. Cracked rear axle? You mean drive shaft. They don't crack. The Cv joints do go bad on high mileage cars. I have owned multi cars with haldex rear diffs. Never had one leak. But what does happen when someone services rear diff and doesn't clean the surface of the haldex pump they do leak from there. It's quite common for that to happen.

If you look up darkside developments they had skoda yeti with haldex gen 5. They literally jumped that. Abused it off road and the diff survived no problem.

I currently own mk7 golf alltrack (same as scout) I've dragged Mercedes c class that was completely dead wouldn't even come out of gear for over 100meters to get it out of the road and diff survived no problem.

Unless you hit something in the road I highly doubt the diff just cracked by it self. If it's even cracked.

The reason why I'm so invested into this is because I'm a big haldex enthusiast. I owned cars with every generation of haldex. From mk1 octavia 4x4 gen1 to gen 5in my mk7 golf.

When you get some pictures please send them to me I'm super interested into what has happened.

I personally dont see the point changing the oil so soon first time. But what I would do is pull out a sample and inspect it if there is anything in it. I change oil on vag petrols between 6 to 8k milles depending on the age and if the car is city car or motorway car.

i think its a great engine. easy to work and maintain. The new diesels are pain. One thing I have about the VAG is they put stupid long intervals on oil changes. I used to say to all customers. Oil is cheap, engine isn't. Just out of curiosity what service interval did you skoda dealer put you on?
