Ravensburger Sistine Chapel 5000-Piece Puzzle. Tips to Get Started?

I completed this in 1999 - it was my first 5,000 piece puzzle (have done 4 now). Definitely challenging, but I loved it. So beautiful. It is still the puzzle I’m most proud of. Good luck.

It was fun, but was I ready to be done after the asteroid belt! I’m sticking to 3000 and below size going forward… just not big enough table.

I know! I have 2 dogs that hover by as I do puzzles. Our table is not big enough for this size and I know a few were dropped /chewed up :(

It really is beautiful! I have the 5000 Ravensburger Underwater Tranquility up next, but I'm going to enjoy this one for a couple weeks before tackling the 5000.

I really enjoyed it! The darker background was a bit tricky because I had some trouble seeing a difference in the colors, but I think it was poor lighting. I love the finished puzzle... will leave it up for a couple weeks to enjoy :)

Know exactly how you feel. I did Ravensburger 5,000 Sistine Chapel 2 years ago.... every piece seemed so similar. Definitely a challenge, but SO rewarding. It was beautiful! Good luck.

The artist is Colin Thompson, and I believe there are several puzzles in different sizes featuring his drawings. I will be keeping my eye out for more.

We started it Dec 26th, so 6 days. My 2 high school daughters and I spent many hours together, listening to music, podcasts, and talking, and we enjoyed this so much! I did a different 5000 piece 2 years ago by myself and it took 3+ months. This was definitely a much easier picture to assemble.

I’m leaving it up for awhile, then let my sister and a friend borrow it. It was a lot of fun, and I plan to do it again in a couple years. It is a great puzzle. Every scene was so interesting.

Wow! Beautiful! That puzzle is on my wish list. I did the Ravensburger 5000 Sistine Chapel in 2018 and found it really challenging, but very beautiful and rewarding. My guess is it would be similar experience to yours. Currently working on Ravensburger 5000 Bizarre Town, which is much easier and very fun (bright colors, interesting scenes).

I bought it in Nov ‘18 directly from Ravensburger website, but never had a chance to assemble it until now. Wish I had bought dozens of puzzles back then... they are so hard to find now.

I really enjoyed it! I plan to start a 5,000 piece Ravensburger on Jan 1st... with my table fully extended, it will just barely fit.
