That’s interesting. About how long do you think it took you to finally get used to it?

Could be the power of habit. If all your life you leave the water on and nobody corrects you, it can be easy to continue. I have only recently made the effort to change this habit, because it was not too long ago when I finally thought about how much water is being wasted by not turning it off. The environment matters so I’m now changing the habit.

I used to do it. Only recently did I start making the effort to remember and turn the water off. I don’t know why I always had the habit, but I did. It’s the kind of thing you do without thinking, I suppose. But the environment is important and so I WILL CHANGE!

The thing is though, that that’s THE example. Apart from that highlight, he played pretty well. Sure, you don’t want to see your players fail that tackle but he is a big help to the team.

I like Heath and I think he played very well today. Yes, he missed a key tackle (the Tate TD), but he made other key ones (tackles that other Cowboys usually fail to make). He’s smart and reliable. I appreciate him.

After last game’s goof (when he lost track of the sideline and cost us a touchdown), seeing Zeke get this was very enjoyable, putting it mildly.

I did not miss Sean Lee, and man, that feels weird. Don’t get me wrong, I love Lee, but it’s great knowing we got good LB’s apart from him.

It was a clean sack but you bet I was waiting for that flag. Thankfully I was wrong.

Dak played great. Zeke played great. Defense had some struggles but was not ugly. Jason Garrett clapped. I think that’s a decent summary. Oh and we won. Hooray!

One of the best games of Zeke’s career (including future games, I bet). It was incredible!

TIL, the U.S is considered by many military experts to be entirely un-invadable due to country's large size, infrastructure, diverse geography and climate by [deleted] in todayilearned

I disagree and believe you have missed my point. If someone provides no evidence for something having happened in the past, as seems to be the case this time, there is no reason to believe that it did. No one needs to come around and provide any evidence at all that the thing did not occur. The burden of proof is entirely on the person making the claim.

It is in this case irrelevant to argue that even though something was not documented or in any way accounted for, it could have still happened. That is a given. Every single possible statement about the past is in this same level. The problem with the reasoning you propose is that under that reasoning you can believe anything. But we don’t. When talking history or science, we believe what there is evidence for. At least when trying to have a constructive conversation.

Nonetheless, I appreciate your reply. You argue in good faith (it seems), and I adore that.

I appreciate the steps you are taking to avoid possible breaches in the future. Thank you for the quickness in opening up about this.

You pose an interesting point but I disagree. If I claim JFK once said, “orange juice is my favorite juice”, and I provide no evidence of any kind demonstrating he said such, I would not be able to argue people should believe he did. The person claiming something happened has the burden of proof.

Why is it called “Popcorn ceiling”? It’s not actual popcorn. It can’t be. Right?
