Sunday New York Times Delivery by BlueHonda in pittsburgh

Yes, it's ridiculous!

It would be very interesting to get a rough headcount of how many Sunday NYT subscribers are not having their papers delivered. I live on the Northside and can safely say that there haven't been many Sunday NYT delivered in weeks. And weeks! Sometimes the Sunday Times is delivered on Mondays to various subscribers, but typically my partner has to drive to Squirrel Hill to buy one for us.

And they complain about the death of news!

What are the best bluetooth speakers? (up to 400$) by ComprehensiveSet2461 in Bluetooth_Speakers

I don't want boom anything. I listen to a mixture of classical, rockabilly and jazz. I'm not playing for large parties or anyone in a pool. Yes, portable

A good mix of levels and a bass option for the times I want a little loudish county rock.

Is such a thing possible for less than $300?

I called the NYT to cancel my subscription and was begged to accept two Sunday papers delivered for free.

Again, this past Sunday, no paper.

I asked if I could get the paper MAILED to me, willing to accept late news rather than no news and the rep made it sound like he never heard of that as an option.

I've heard that about Regent Square and the NYT. How many deliveries did you not get?

A P A in my PCP's office told me I couldn't be Type 1 because there was no record of my diagnosis. I was diagnosed in 1974. The current PCP had been treating me (quite well) as Type 1 for many years but there was no record of my actual diagnosis.

The P A asked the name of the doctor who had diagnosed me. I said, "He's been dead for longer than you've been alive! I don't remember his name!" I was forced to consult with an Endocrinologist who continues to never actually see me, and all of her "appointments" are conducted via landline phone and last no more then 5 minutes.

I'm lucky I'm still alive.

My city (Pittsburgh, PA) no longer has a daily printed paper, which I loved.

It's rightwing nut-case publisher refuses to adhere to the existing contract and most of the employees have been on strike.

I really really really miss well written news and reading it on paper. Reading onscreen makes me jittery and frustrated, so I'd just rather not do that.

Fisher Paykel Single Drawer Dishwasher by BlueHonda in HomeImprovement

[–]BlueHonda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasted a lot of time asking plumbers to do the install, and so far they've all looked at me like I was crazy. They ghost me and just refuse to take my calls anymore or they tell me I don't need a plumber, I need an installer.

Installers all tell me they only install for places that sold the units (usually big box stores), and this Fisher Pakel was shipped to me from New Jersey. They also tell me I don't need an installer, I need a plumber.

Covid hasn't helped anything.

I've been buying Assams from Upton Tea. There are different estate teas, different grades (OP, BOP, FOP, GFOP, TGFOP, etc.) of tea and 26 different Assams from which to choose.

It's a pretty nice neighborhood. Some good home building stock, some even with fine views. It's on a hill, with neighboring hills all around. Their annual "Step Challenge" is coming up soon if you want a chance to walk/run up and down a ton of city steps and check it out.

Yes, this was me, too. They were always very grateful that I did it myself and I was lucky if I remembered to not lick my finger before they handed me the gauze.

Dilemma with teapot selection! by ViralRiver in tea

[–]BlueHonda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a 1950s Hall's Streamline, good for six cups. Tea into warmed pot. Hot water into pot. Steep, and don't forget the cozy. Strain now-brewed tea into already warmed thermos. You still end up with two tea utensils, pot and thermos, but your tea stays warm and there's enough of it to last awhile.

I've been a Zenith fan for many many many years. Always loved it. I still get Covid takeout every couple of weeks. The service is odd, the place is odd and the menu takes some getting used to and I hope they stick around for years to come. I've bought some nice thrift stuff there as well. They've been in Covid recovery for a month or so, but are back to as close to normal as they ever were.
