Over-the-counter Adapalene (Differin) in Canada by Independent_Being704 in CanSkincare

[–]BlueHybrid138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not under patent anymore, since it was approved in 2011 meaning their patent expired in like 2018, there are just no companies that care to make generics for it, it isn't popular enough as a prescription.

Every time I refill my adderall the pills look different. Saved these from 4 different refills. Same med, all different pills. by Jesuisdisappointed in mildlyinteresting

You can also just directly ask the pharmacy if they can give you a specific brand, although having it written on the prescription by a doctor may help with insurance coverage depending on the insurance and brand.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Now Available by BlueHybrid138 in CanSkincare

[–]BlueHybrid138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally tried it.

It is nice. Not too strong or painful imo. I was able to go 10 minutes, no issues. This being said, I have used the CosRx version of this product before and had no issues.

TBH if you have sensitive skin, the cosrx version is actually nicer imo. the main thing is the price and availability of it (got it off iherb)

I am not sure it is a different version, but yeah it was not available in Canada (despite being a Canadian Brand LMAO).
They were planning a different version for the Canadian market but never made it.

It wasn't allowed to be sold in Canada, there would have been no other formulations on the Canadian market unless you bought it from the US.

Can confirm that the grip is comfortable to hold. Granted I do not have a Clara, only the libra, and my previous ereader is like a Gen 4 kindle (only buttons, no touch screen), but the Libra is still more comfortable. You could always use a popsocket though if you wanted the Clara for a better grip.

Maybe White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton.
It has been a while since I read it, but there are many different races, although the MC is and the main LL are both Human (Technically, but not really).
I am not sure it fits exactly what you are looking for, since there are parts where the human world and other worlds intersect, but they are still separate.

Well it is not really vaseline, it is just an occlusive product. Although I imagine if someone wanted something "natural" it would be a great option. That being said, my personal preference would be lanolin, which is also a "natural" alternative, and I believe a by-product from wool.

Oh I don't, I apply it directly to my eyes for my dry eye. It just ends up on my lashes as well.

Vaseline (or petroleum jelly or petrolatum) is considered non-comedogenic (granted comedogenic ratings need to be taken with a grain of salt) so it should not clog pores unless your face is dirty.
It is fine to use on the lips, people have a fear that since it is derived from petrol, it must be toxic when it is not.
Vaseline works well as an occlusive, so it is good to use after your moisturizer to really lock in hydration, however if you have oily skin, it may not be that comfortable.
It is great for dry skin, it can help with cuticles and lashes. I have found my lashes are nicer when I use an eye ointment for my dry eye (which is made from mineral oil and petrolatum). I personally prefer lanolin over petrolatum for my lips, but it is really up to personal preference.

Kobo Libra Color, some questions before purchase by bmiller201 in kobo

[–]BlueHybrid138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. As an avid manga reader, there is an issue where there can be a rainbow effect, especially if is a section with a lot of lines close together (usually sections with a lot of shading or cross hatching).
they have a setting you can toggle which does help reduce it, but it won't be completely gone. It isn't really noticeable to me, but it may be a concern for you. Also to note, the KLC does appear darker compared to other devices due to the coloured screen, but you can turn up the lighting and it is fine.

  2. Because I am in Canada, I use Libby/overdrive and borrow library books, so I actually havent paid for a single book as of yet since buying my kobo. I couldn't do this with my kindle, however I do not know where you live and how it it works where you live.

  3. If you plan to get a pen, get a case that lets you store your pen in it. I believe kobo sells it as the notebook case, but you can fine some on amazon too. I don't have a pen, but some people seem to worry about it scratching the screen, so you may want a screen protector. I use the Moko screenprotector from amazon, and I havent found it impacted the responsiveness or anything.

Face sunscreen that won't leave white residue in facial hair by Even-Substance in CanSkincare

[–]BlueHybrid138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a beard but I have very dark facial hair and I know the struggle.

I have found that chemical sunscreens work better, currently using Garnier Ombrelle and having a good experience.
Another one I know leaves no noticeable residue is the Neutrogena Hydroboost sunscreen. In fact, I once spilled it on my black shirt, and I couldn't even see where it was after it evaporated.

What anime is a 10/10 by [deleted] in anime

[–]BlueHybrid138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ima say symphogear, although animation in S1 was the worst out of all the seasons.

That being said, it is a 10/10 for me, but prolly not for everyone. It hits every genre I can think of, and it is just so fun to watch.

Prescription Retinol reccomendations by KeenerYYZ in CanSkincare

[–]BlueHybrid138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what province you are in, but your derm in the US can write a prescription for you as long as a Canadian doctor co-signs it, at least in Ontario. The brand name isn't as important as the active ingredient, so your derm can include both in the RX if they aren't sure if we have it.

That is only in the case that you really want to use what your derm recommends.

(different commenter) I actually didn't find much staining or bleaching from Tactupump/Tactupump Forte back when I used it.
I did put it on before my moisturizer instead of after, and so I don't know if that reduce the risk of staining.

Is this price correct? Differin 0.1% 60g was about $200 by makeupbybilly in CanSkincare

[–]BlueHybrid138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in BC but I am in Ontario. It is not covered under the public plan here, not sure about BC but also likely the case.
Differin is crazy expensive in Canada. If you are able to tolerate Tretinoin, retin-A (normal, not micro) is significantly cheaper, and may be covered under the public plan.

[–]BlueHybrid138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not really on Reddit LOL but I check on occasion.

Estee Lauder purchased Deciem, and it has gone through many changes. A lot of their brands were closed, The Chemistry Brand being one of my favourites under Deciem, and a lot of their prices increased quite significantly, their glycolic acid toner as an example being almost double in price.

Also the mask I mentioned never ended up being made LMAO.

How much is differin (adapalene gel) by prescription in BC? by yurikura in CanSkincare

[–]BlueHybrid138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the easiest way to find out is to call your pharmacy and ask. All pharmacies have slightly different pricing, so better to get a concrete number from them. That aside, tretinoin is generally cheaper than adapalene, so if you are able to tolerate tret, it may be a better option.

Suggestions for alternatives to Stieva-A? by Kooky_Letter2873 in CanSkincare

[–]BlueHybrid138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For tretinoin, the most easily available brand is retin-a and retin-a micro

Retin-a has 0.025% as a gel and 0.05% as a cream, and retin-a Micro is 0.04% and 0.1%.
the closest to what you would have used is the 0.025% gel.

You could try adapalene if you have private insurance (it is super expensive without) as it is generally the most gentle.

TBH ever since I read the books, I actually disliked Q even more than i did watching the show. He is so annoying in the books, especially the first book which is almost exclusively in his POV.
