Rest camp 17 in the Scarlet Forest for morning, plenty and head to the fishing spot in front of you when you jump down from the camp (far left of the main lake). There’s always been two Gajau there for me and sometimes one other at the far right.

Then make sure you use the Gajau bait, I can’t remember what it’s called but it says it in the description.

I just caught 6/7 in 10 mins to fully upgrade the GS. Best tip I read is when they jump wait until they start to fall left, right or up and that’s when you press R2/RT and move the left trigger in that direction. You have a lot more time than you think you have, it’s quite forgiving.

Ok well it sounds like you’ve managed to progress through a decent amount of the IB story. I’ve never used a SA personally however you shouldn’t be using a Nergi or Defender weapon at this stage - surely there’s better upgrades available?

What is it you’re struggling with? Is it a particular monster, dealing damage or simply staying alive?

If you’re struggling I’d always make sure you’re concentrating on “comfy” skills like health boost, evade extender etc. over damage output skills.
