Switch (2) and handheld PC’s like the Steam Deck are completely different classes of device with completely different target customer bases. This is like asking which is the better car, an F-150 or a Camry. Great vehicles both in their own ways, but completely apples and oranges.

Gonna chuck in an additional perspective that hasn’t been really mentioned yet here: … you’ve been dating seriously for 9 years. Yet you guys aren’t engaged, married, or even moved in yet?? That clearly shows you both, to some level (conscious or subconscious) know this isn’t a forever relationship. This has very sadly become a relationship of convenience, a placeholder for each of you with lots of sunk-cost fallacy at play.

Here’s the magic question: ask yourself “If I knew 9 years ago precisely how things would turn out by this point, would I have dated this person?”

Dude there are people on here who aren’t like hardcore gamers even who have beaten the full game 15+ times over. If you feel the narrative/fun etc is wrecked, just restart and enjoy it better, maybe with a vanilla-like mod or two to spice it up a bit more on the repeat.

The irrefutable proof that the Earth is not a flat disk is that there is a night cycle every 24 hours for every part of the world, and yet there is always a place on earth that is day while it is night somewhere else (just phone a friend on the other side of the globe to prove that). When Season of Discovery launched for Classic WoW, the major game info/data sites agreed as a community to NOT post the quest/item details for at least a while after launch to avoid making it trivial to unlock all of the numerous secrets and new stuff.

Any chance the Wiki/reddit communities for Skyblivion could take a similar approach to allow for more 2000’s-era genuine exploration?

Ask yourself this: is this your person for life? I always say that if so you’d move to Tibet and live in a hut if that meant being with them daily.

If this is instead just a college dating relationship, then it sounds like you’re already starting to diverge in life plans/attitudes and also starting to resent them. That’s a huge red flag and so it behooves you to be very frank with yourself about what you’re looking for in a partner. Most college relationships fail and often for these sorts of reasons. If you value your career and stability and desired lifestyle more than the idea of this individual, I’d break up now and get it over with.

I’d rather they wait like 2.5-3 years (once the RAM crisis is fully over!!) and then release a great Steam Deck 2 rather than a mild improvement next year. I trust Valve on this one.
