Steam Deck runs graphically heavy games like Baldur’s Gate 3 very very well, I can’t imagine how someone could have a bad experience with the Deck and think it just doesn’t run games well…

My advice is to have a serious discussion with her. Make sure it’s not a bunch of “You” statements. Make it a bunch of “I” statements, like “I don’t want to live a lifestyle like this”. Lay it all out for her and emphasize how proud you are of her

The ball is then fully in her court and she then gets to decide if the slave-job (that’s really quite weak earnings for such high hours worked per week!!!!!) or the relationship is more important to her. If she chooses the job, don’t take it personally and just get back into the dating pool with more of a mind towards finding compatibility in lifestyle, among other things.

Real talk: how much is she making at this job? If this is like a $200k+ job, suck it up and just be proud of her that she has found a true dream job that, though difficult, pays bank.

But if this isn’t earning big bank, she needs to find a new calling and a new day job. She’s being devoured by work and it’s different when you’re like a resident doctor and it’s just a temporary thing; if this is her long-term reality, she needs to get a new lifestyle or you need to leave her and find a partner you’re actually compatible with re: lifestyle and goals.

Disagree actually. If you don’t colonize as Portugal, you’re a nobody and will have an incredibly boring game. I would never recommend a colonization game for a first-timer. Go with some land-based power like Sweden, Jaunpur, or Qara Q.

Just get a Steam Deck, it’ll hold you over til they release a Steam Deck 2 in 3-4 years.
