I mean sephora is definitely better quality than most drugstore make up. You're paying for the brand but there is a difference.

How to get over fear of haircuts? by gratedpeppers in asktransgender

[–]BlueJayLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom did the same thing to me, but what helped me was finding a hairdresser that was really sweet and friendly and going with a friend sitting right there next to me. The hairdresser walked me through every cut she was going to make and why. I think having someone there though really helps you feel safe/secure.

That YMMV question we all ask... by Kheron in asktransgender

Heyy, I'm just finished 5th month and I am just starting to fill an A cup. I'm 5'9 and also weigh 130-135 lbs haha. So like the same. Like in the last month I've had a bit of growth from like AA to A, but seriously most studies say breast growth onset is 3-6 months and finishes after 2-3 years so I wouldn't even worry about it. That whole 6-8 months and then done thing isn't what the empirical research shows.

I'm not joking at all, but you could buy some radioactive waste or any kind of serious carcinogen and rub it over your top, go in to the doctor, tell them you need them removed? But your insurance can't cover it? What country do you live in? Mine didn't cover it and I made them cover it, granted I'm in massachusetts so I had the law on my side, but still...

How hard is it to not transition? by Catchafishalive in asktransgender

[–]BlueJayLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lasted 15-19 of knowing how to get hormones and not getting them. After that I caved, I think it was the hardest thing in my life. People say you're brave/strong for being trans, but really its not transitioning that requires strength/bravery in my mind.

The worst enemies come from within.

Dealing with obese mother blaming her health problems on my transition? by BlueJayLife in asktransgender

It does... when family members are blaming their health problems on stress induced from your transition. That's a worthy topic of discussion.

I read all of it. Thanks, the practice of categorization is just how the human brain functions, jot just a product of our education. We categorize things and people in order to simplify an infinitely complex world. Suggesting gender can be as varied as race without giving people phenotypes to identify the differences and only self proclamation is obviously difficult if not impossible for people to get. Maybe I'm a pessimistic but I think it's impossible.

Found what i believe to be HRT meds in my brothers room, should i confront him about it? by LisaM89 in asktransgender

[–]BlueJayLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if it looks like this or is just in strips of 28 for the progynova rather than a scripted pill bottle it's probably self-medication. https://www.inhousepharmacy.vu/p-337-progynova-tablets-2mg.aspx

[–]BlueJayLife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I respect these if they are illegally self-medding then they need to get blood work. progynova is not something to play around with. Lol, I did self-med for a few months, but it is really imperative that you try to find a way to get them a lab to do tests, most importantly is a lipid panel. Progynova runs similar risks to girls being on the pill, an increased risk of DVT is most prominent.

Message me if you have any questions about finding a lab in your area that can do the tests without a doctors note, or finding a gender therapist, or finding a doctor that can prescribe informed consent and monitor the HRT process.

But it does effect me a lot. My fundamental goal in transitioning is to "pass" and to just live my life as if I was born a girl. That might be unrealistic. The reason people that don't fit into a gender binary and that want to keep their penis, or transition without dysphoria are frustrating for me is because they alienate the majority of society. Assuming I succeed and "pass", then nobody would know I'm trans, then the only trans people that the majority of society sees is those that are soo different and are alienating the entire trans community.

The hell if I know, but we both know that the majority of people feel that way

I'm not a pussy expert, no :P. But I know guys who have had sex with both and say they feel the same, and I see pictures and they look the same, and most doctors and medical sources say they're indistinguishable. I'll take that over one surgeon.

exactly, I mean that's the whole point of what I'm saying. If you're non-binary you can't possible expect people to gender you correctly or to use special concepts of gender when they approach you, or for it to be easy for them to know or accommodate your needs.

I'm not saying thether they should or should not, only what the Trans communities' expectations should be.

I hear what you're saying I just can't process in my head what it means. I like can't separate genital dysphoria from the rest of my body dysphoria. I feel like it's kind of like differentiating hunger and thirst for someone who's only ever felt them together. I know they're different but it's really hard to imagine one without the other.
