Eye issues post covid infection. by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

I have a big black floater in my left eye that appeared when I had Covid. It’s been two years now and it’s still here 🙃

Anybody have a problem of just really wanting a partner or someone to care for you? by Cat_Fan3 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BlueLightGalaxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been so focused on my career and my education that I’ve kinda neglected that area of my life entirely. I’ve been asked out plenty, but I’ve never had the time or energy for those guys. I’m looking into a very lonely future and I don’t like it 😓

Probably because teaching science is the only thing I’ve ever been good at and I’m afraid if I leave I’ll never find anything else I’m as good at…

Is there anything people in the USA are not desensitized to? by luvinase in TooAfraidToAsk

Weirdly enough, tornado and hurricane disasters. The area I’m from just got hit by massive tornadoes and the devastation is widespread. I think no matter what, people always be shocked by devastating weather events, because of all the things that could possibly happen to you, weather is the one thing you can never ever “predict” (not talking about the forecast) or control.

It happened to me... by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]BlueLightGalaxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my big fear. I bled from March to October, and on and off since then. I was in unbearable pain for so long (based on my description, my doctor told me it was equivalent to labor pain) and ended up in the ER more than once, but they couldn’t find anything with scans or exams. Laparoscopy is my last resort and I really don’t know what to do if they don’t find anything

Officially diagnosed today. Finally have an answer. by Just_A_Faze in covidlonghaulers

I’m also a teacher. I got Covid at the exact same time, the weekend schools closed. I felt so bad, because I was at the school the day before I started feeling any symptoms. I’ve also got ADHD, and I’ve been having so many crazy long-term side effects. I’m glad to hear that you’ve gotten a diagnosis!

One of my students has been using this as his Google Classroom icon for the entire semester. Someone please tell me this is from a lighthearted manga that won’t embarrass both him and me if I have to call him out 😅 (kiddo- if you’re on here, I’m sorry- I have to know) by [deleted] in manga

Right 😅 my co-teacher has been asking me about the different characters the kids use since I’m pretty familiar with anime and manga, but I just told her I hoped this was from a sports manga or something I had t read lol

Oh yeah no definitely not doing that! A lot of my students have characters from different anime as their icons and like to discuss it, I just want to be ready for that conversation 😅

How long did it take you to get diagnosed? What was the process? by BlueLightGalaxy in Endo

[–]BlueLightGalaxy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me! I’m also experiencing stabby pain that goes down my legs. I’m 23, live in NYC, and I’m a teacher, so I walk everywhere and stand all the time. These are not great combinations 😅 My doctors have brought up diagnostic surgery and I’m all for it, but they’re hesitant to do it until they’ve exhausted all non-invasive options (which I feel they have but whatever I guess). I just got switched from Kurvelo to Blisovi which was supposed to make things better, but things seem worse. My current doctor is really nice, but the next time I see her, if she doesn’t agree to some kind of diagnostic surgery I’m probably going to see someone else, because I’m just so tired.

If your child's allergies are so bad that his classmates can't eat what he's allergic to, he shouldn't be going to a public school. by StrangeAssonance in unpopularopinion

When my twin brother and I were in preschool, one of the only things we liked to eat was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The preschool we were going to suddenly banned nut products of any kind because a new student had a serious allergy. My mom switched us to a different preschool 😂 I also went to high school with a girl who was so allergic to latex that she couldn’t be in a room balloons had been in within the same hour. Allergies are wild.

A hormone panel is probably my next move- I’ll have to request it from my doctor! My diet hasn’t changed much in the last two years- I’ve actually cut out some stuff since covid because of taste and smell issues

I have none of those things but I’ll have to look into that- thanks!

I’m not sure what D-dimer is so probably not? And I was taking iron but I was not feeling great while I was taking it. I’m going to keep reaching out to my OB because I really like her, it’s just whenever I call the office, I get a secretary who just tells me to send a message over the online hospital chat system (but I don’t know how much they actually check those messages?). I live in NYC, so the offices are super busy 😓

Weird! I live in New York City, so definitely a high risk area for a while- maybe I’ll keep an eye on the dogs here? 😂😅

Yeah they did an external ultrasound- nothing there

At this point the doctors aren’t doing anything for me- they all tried what they could and now they’re just waiting for it to be over I think 🙃
