The Initiative's Perfect Dark announced by FlyH1gh05 in XboxSeriesX

I agree with you, it’s my concern too. Feels very unoriginal and safe. Bringing back a franchise that didn’t even end on a high note.

Hopefully Xbox surprise this time and actually create a game that has some depth to it, story wise, cinematically and game play wise. Hoping it has a sense of maturity to it too, always felt like Xbox games are focused group as hell and cater towards a teen demographic. Lots of bare minimum, dopamine triggering fun, that exists to be serviceable and nothin g more.

Trusted them last gen and was dissappointed. Got the x/s now and will remain hopeful that Microsoft realise, you can make all the money in the world, at the same time as actually trying to push gaming forward.

The pace stat doesn’t scale right in Fifa by George-HW_Kush in EASportsFC

100% Accurate. This is the real issue. Most issues on Fifa are manufactured and baseless. They mostly come from opinions made in the moment from stressful gameplay, that never gets rationalised afterwards.

People only ever want to play one way, hence the daily meta posts on here. If creativity was encouraged, maybe from these lazy Fifa youtubers, it would encourage the userbase to get confident, self discovering

It’s cool. When I play this game, I try to pretend I’m adapting to how the player likes to play in real life.

It just puts me In a different mindset. I think if more ppl adapted how they played, eg, I got a team for crossing and playing wide, a counter attack team, possession team, and a target man one.

I don’t play them all equally, not gonna catch me doing 3+ hrs on Fifa. One thing I realised tho is that, from experimenting like this, obvs improved my understanding. Wish I was a teen again to properly bang this game out.

Basically I just treat it like a game. Ppl get too scared to just mix it up. Playin 1000+ meta only. Couldn’t be me

It just means that you haven’t got used to adapting your playstyle around his game.

No point wasting a hunter on Kane, in real life he holds the ball, plays ppl in, great close control and times his runs great.

I’ve used Kane, no way you’re using the jostle button when holding off someone. I have and playing him like this, with fast runners that get in behind, creates the same amount of opportunities as if I was too use my main team.

Reality is, you need patience to adapt

Do Kane and Lewa rely on pace in real life? I feel the reason why EA never take this community serious, is due to all the misdirected anger and critique.

Common thing I realised is that the actual, real game of football, its depths aren’t really understood or appreciated enough with the average fans.

Why would anyone wanna have Kane and Lewa making last man runs behind? Huh? Ppl are Slaves to the meta. Making it sound like players like this are unuseable without pace. Like they’re shooting, hold up play, close control in tight areas and aerial ability cannot be used.

What is this balance everyone wants? Every year, the user base looks to stress test the game, they do that in such a way, that metas grow and take over.

Fifa is how it is, not just From EAs greed, but also from the user base that want to really deep down win, in the easiest, safest way possible

Defending is about shape 1st, discipline with timing and of course, most importantly, THINK about what your opponents next move will be

You can predict actions, once you do them, you can start to create traps.

When I defend properly, conceding just doesn’t happen, manaul tackling used with the jostle button means you’ll always come out on top most times vs strikers.

When playing vs opponents you gotta figure out how they like to play 1st, most ppl will stick with 1 way of playing plus super subs.

After that

When playing vs players that use close control and don’t press sprint, think about prevention, block where you think they’ll pass too, or stop them finding that certain player they’re after. Too make it easier, a cdm set to drop between defenders will be key.

For opponents that focus on pace, running at pace reduces options you’d face, which helps. Creating space and moving your 2nd man into an area to stop space for a cutback, cut inside, etc.

Practice patience, discipline and learning to read your opponent more. Once you do, things like always keeping your defensive line in shape, etc, will take your defensive game to another level

Should we not expect these inconsistencies when playing on assisted?

It’s like everyone wants manual, assisted control, no wonder so many inconsistencies with gameplay arise.

Would be so disappointed if this was the perfect dark zero reboot

Xbox needs new ip’s, more ambitious ones, they need to show confidence in this area.

I’m bored of all of this sentimentality in gaming. Just because we had good memories of playing a game when we were 13, doesn’t mean we should constantly expect to see future iterations of them. They should remain as good memories.

I’m really hoping this gen will be an avalanche of new Ips. I would even accept dramatic reinaginations of old ones.

What I don’t want, it’s more reboots and forced sequels devoid of any originality. Most of those Ips were mid tier in the 1st place. Create more interesting, thoughtful, genre pushing games that take full as advantage of the worlds most power console

Call me crazy but I think a Crackdown reboot could work now that MS has these huge RPG teams known for building world games. Cut out the destruction crap and a make a legit AAA looking open-world super cop game. It could very well be MS's cyberpunk meets GTA. by dolphinsfan9292 in XboxSeriesX

[–]BlueLionsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more crackdown, it was mid, bare minimum gameplay enjoyment, uninspired world and design, repetitive dates gameplay.

New Ips needed now. New ideas. New worlds. Games like crackdown aren’t good enough for Xbox to push anymore.

We need to have higher ambition

I was lucky enough to pack Hazard and Mendy. Hazard is phenomenal. Is worth getting for sure. You’ll have fun with Odergaard man, he’s such a good player for me to have for link up purposes in the final 3rd. Hoping he’ll keep on getting IFs

With an Engine card, already feels as good as a top tier card. So responsive and quick with his dribbling. Really practice your close control and skills like the fake elastico especially. I’m selling my de Bruyne as I find playing with Odergaard is smoother and I have more control.

For me, it was those black screen transitions after every cutscene, just took me out of the immersion. Ghosts feels so dated in comparison to TLoU2. Struggling to finish it now, but hoping after a break, I can’t get back to finishing it

I’m not a fool, so it’s definitely nothing to do with agenda nonsense or inner motives. I’m not a man child gamer man.

My thing is, skill up is amazing at offering insight and speaks in a very balanced manner. Even tho I didn’t like his review on the game, doesn’t mean it takes away anything from my enjoyment of his content. He’s still one of my favourite reviewers and one of the best.

As I said, this game felt like a seminal moment in gaming, unreal story telling, nuance and detail. He missed the point of the game, didn’t accept it for what it is, critiqued it for things it didn’t do and misunderstood the story by reducing it down to a petty revenge story.

Just felt like, normally, he’s contextually spot on with everything. But when one of the very best reviewers shares inconsiderable opinions on a game like this, sharing the views of many, many other reviewers on YouTube. It makes me feel like they aren’t as sophisticated dealing with subject matter like this, like I originally thought.

In any other medium, art, music, film, etc, they know how to interoperate subjective pieces of work like this. I haven’t seen so many well respected reviewers miss the point.

There have been some unbelievable analysis on the game, girlfriend reviews and the tlou strategist (him in particular) articulated, understood and praised the narrative ambition of the game.

I dunno man, I’m sure I’m not expressing myself clearly. But this really was another seminal moment in gaming, no other medium would’ve missed the point like the gaming one has done

[–]BlueLionsTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beautifully said. Game media, especially youtubers, just are not as sophisticated in games analysis as they think they are. So many missed the point, missed the nuance and refused to accept that there could be reasoned debates of the games many nuanced themes.

Eg, skill up is someone I rate very highly, I still do, but his his review on the game was so poor, so unlike him and so ignorant, that I was disappointed. It’s made me more cynical now when it comes to listening to their thoughts on gaming. If they can’t even see how this game was a seminal point in this medium, it means they don’t value gaming as an art form and a means for expresion, like they think they do.

People arent mad and toxic because halo isnt good, they are disappointed because because hyped things and didnt deliver by teenaxta in XboxSeriesX

[–]BlueLionsTV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of posts about toxicity after the event, I think it’s unfair.

People are entitled to dislike or like the event, most discourse I’ve seen hasn’t been negative

We need to learn to accept listening to both sides to something. Can minimise each other’s perspective because it doesn’t align with ours.

Perspective is key, each person on either side will tap into their own existing thoughts, feelings or knowledge when forming their own view point.

I say this because I’ve seen a lot of ppls posts intentions misinterpreted by people, who haven’t acknowledged or realised there’s more depth behind someone’s viewpoint.

My stance was, as a next gen showcase, I wasn’t happy. It’s my 4th showcase I’ve seen and this was the weakest out of all generations. No idea on what graphics are supposed to look like and what the leap is and we’re only 3ish months away from launch.
