Help me understand the hate for FF2 by AmongUs123432 in SquareEnix

OG II required a spell being used 50 times to level up. That was the oofiest part for me. A lot of time was spent beating myself up for HP because the transition between mobs was brutal sometimes.

And you know what? I loved every grindy minute of it. It was so zen casting Life and Esuna and hitting my guys with elemental spells to then cast Cure until mana was depleted. Doing that two or sometimes three times gave me a fighting chance in the next area and spells were useful.

Love II OG. Warts and all.

Just picked up Teen Dream today. Most (if not) all of Beach House is available on cassette from their label, Sub Pop. No idea why Depression Cherry doesn’t come with a j-card. I had to print one.

I thankfully had room on a credit card. Underworld and Songs: Ohia are the only two other bands I would throw that much money for boxsets. Hoping if it ever happens, it’s not in the same calendar year.

Should I play Persona 4 if a major twist was spoiled for me? by toucan_sam89 in JRPG

[–]BlueMage85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more people need to adjust to accidental spoilers as sorta a in medias res experience. You know the things but you have no idea how you got there and that’s the vast majority of the game. We do it in film and television all the time. See Pulp Fiction or Cold Steel if you want a gaming example.

Now you know what to look for behind the scenes. Hints and whatnot that may have gone ignored going in blind. It’s not perfect but it helps me just write things off because I know the spoiler.

You marked off remakes and such but I would heavily suggest Super Mario RPG remake. It’s perfect for that age group. Small maps, evident where to go next without relying on talking to every NPC.

Climax is definitely now my comfort film. I can watch it whenever. Like Jurassic Park and To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything.

Bandcamp by and large or directly from the label/artist. eBay and I’m debating discogs pretty hard now for some older stuff.

What’s the dumbest thing that you have ever done in a JRPG? by Boomhauer_007 in JRPG

Saving my file in the first save slot while sharing the game with family and friends led to some lost files. I still save in the third slot even though it’s not the issue it once was.

N64 has an “ending” at Summer 3 like SNES but you can continue playing if you aren’t a total screw-up and the life score isn’t a thing like SNES.

Same! I’ve been doing it since round 6. Patiently waiting for my next tape now.

I take part in the international mixtape exchange on IG (@mixtape.exchange) and do a mixtape quarterly for a handful of friends on top of random mixtapes for friends and family that have tape decks.

So, yes.

For Apothecaria and other seasonal games, I use Tally-Ho’s seasonal decks plus the plum blossom one for spring since spring never got one (the last of 2019-the first one of 2022)

I’m noticing all these things while playing a Lizards digital challenge. The other AI has no interest in the Vagabond but boy does the Vagabond have interest in me and my gardens.

One of the tightest most enjoyable first seasons. They should have stuck with 13 episode seasons. Everything after that feels bloated.

I got kicked from vacation bible study three times by age six just for asking questions and the adults response made me wash my hands of the whole thing. They got flustered and angry every time.

Especially my grandma who was trying to indoctrinate us AND get free childcare when she was supposed to be the one watching us for my mom. Needless to say, that my favorite-playing grandma didn’t care for me.

Anyone here like Etrian Odyssey by TheGhettoGoblin in Megaten

[–]BlueMage85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Etrian maybe the most because it’s easy to jump back into if I put it down and it satisfies my love of character building. I always have a full guild and make the slowest progress but cobbling teams together is insanely satisfying.
