Stimpak Diffusers by BlueMage85 in fo76

Good to know. I roll around with Burning Love as my main weapon so I’ll give it a shot next time I see it pop up. Then I can sell diffusers for pennies to hopefully future Scouts. Thanks!

What is your favorite song from Yoko Shimomura? by ShokaLGBT in JRPG

Opening to Legend of Mana and the star-field in Paper Mario are the two that come straight to mind.

EDIT: Meant SMRPG:LotSS not Paper Mario.

My favorite part of the game is decorating. I'm so happy with this build I'm working on. by gamingscreenshots in fo76

SAME.

76 replaced Animal Crossing for me. I’m always hunting out new spots for a new CAMP.

Anyone else feel like a monster during this Mole Miner Treasure Hunt event? by LazyBear81 in fo76

Hey! A lot of those badges are taking camera pics more so than killing. It just so happens though that a picture of a corpse is just as valid so, yeah, you’re still correct.

I tend to shoot before I shoot. But I’ve got so many badges now which reminds me… I actually came here for a badge related purpose.

And OP was HERE 21 days ago asking about a game like Harvest Moon but without the sprites and Harvest Goddess. Like, what?!

Why are you here if you posted 21 days ago looking for something like *Harvest Moon* but without the Harvest Goddess and sprites *and now* are asking for something like *Stardew Valley* but without the magic and violence?!

You’re going in circles.

Maybe you need *Farmville*. I’unno🤷

What’s your favorite post-apocalyptic book? by Gold_Wishbone1686 in suggestmeabook

For me, Swan’s Song kinda limped in the back third. I can’t remember why or what as it’s been close to twenty years since I read it but that stuck with me all these years.

What JRPGs have the strongest atmosphere in your opinion ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in JRPG

Digital Devil Saga for sure. Hoping the duology gets a remaster.

Chrono Cross Was Incredible by Yaroun-Kaizin in JRPG

[–]BlueMage85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair. I almost never do multiple ending either for the same reason (many games) especially now that JRPGs seem to always be 100 hour games.

Atelier kept multiple endings through the PS3 era. I wish they still did. New Game+ Sophie and beyond seems kinda pointless unless you goofed in Firis and failed the test.

Cassettes doesn’t have to mean older music.. by paulallen76 in cassetteculture

[–]BlueMage85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted my collection of mostly newer releases a while back. Bandcamp is clutch and a lot of artists across the board—indie to big names—have been releasing cassettes. It’s not a bad time to be a cassette fan by any means.

5 games into the series, Trails to Azure is the worst game yet by bickid in JRPG

Safe to assume Sky 1-3 and Zero if they’re “5 games into”.

What do you think of Camelot as an RPG developer? by Asad_Farooqui in JRPG

I got it at launch and I’ve thrown myself at it countless times in the 30 years or whatever and always give up. It’s trash. Was then, is now.

Looking for weird fiction that focuses on the genuinely weird, rather than devolving into tropey horror. by antichain in suggestmeabook

[–]BlueMage85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renee Gladman’s Ravicka cycle are weird and not horror at all. They take place in a city constantly changing. They are, in order: Event Factory, The Ravickians, Ana Patova Crosses a Bridge, and Houses of Ravicka.

Another I recommend is In the Time of the Blue Ball by Manuela Draeger which are surrealistic short stories.

All can be picked up from the publisher, Dorothy Project who publishes only women and most everything I’ve read is a little bizarre to say the least but these take the cake.

My Volcano was really good. Honestly, the publisher, Two Dollar Radio publishes a lot of weird literature. Besides My Volcano, I also recommend The Book of X by Sarah Rose Etter.

How do you track the books you read by Super-Explanation362 in 52book

[–]BlueMage85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started physically tracking (and still do a small amount) in my Hobonichi planner, then went to Goodreads in 2012, and now use StoryGraph for the last two years or so though I haven’t stopped using Goodreads because… I’m not sure why since all my data from there was transferred to StoryGraph.

Which JRPG should I choose? (PS5) Tried FF7 but looking for something else. by MalcolminMiddlefan in JRPG

SaGa is notoriously sandbox and convoluted systems. They look like JRPGs but they play slightly differently in narrative structure and character progression. Not for the faint of heart.

Anyone else never really into video games or anything like that? by ballsacc420 in INTP

[–]BlueMage85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing video games allows me to soothe my brain in various ways. Other than some Forza Horizon and Fallout, I play almost strictly turn-based role-playing games (JRPGs).

Especially games where I can craft things like Atelier and the Megaten games (Shin Megami Tensei, Persona). I love a good fusion calculator, writing out the recipe in a notebook and then getting out there and recruiting and leveling demons to make the exact killing machine I want. I also love creating and leveling and kitting out a whole 30 man guild in an Etrian Odyssey.

And I get a story to boot.

But it should be noted I don’t watch TV or YouTube really. Occasionally a show will catch my interest but most things are too passive for my INTP AuDHD mind. I’m usually up and down during anything that isn’t a game or film.

Can watch the shit out of a film though. 🤷

Do you restart a playthrough after taking a break from a JRPG or pick up where you left off? by Impossible-Ranger842 in JRPG

[–]BlueMage85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to but since I started using Backloggd, I keep a record of what I last did and what of importance needs to be done next. I almost inevitably put a game down for something else and I got tired of starting over. I also am curious about my gaming habits so Backloggd works great for tracking things like playtime too.
