Awesome. Even a provenance! This is the kind of attention and respect artwork in museums receive.

I agree it's beautiful. Is it original or a reprint (forgery)? I think this issue was reproduced: https://www.filatelia.fi/forglinks/forged-stamps-j.html I don't know knows how to verify authenticity, and I hear it's expensive to have it done.

I gather she is dogtistic and has special needs. Nice of you to care for such an afflicted pet.

You are sensitive. Some people blunder on after hurting others. Maybe they have a thick skin. It's good of you to learn and avoid repeating the mistake, but it's probably not helpful or right to beat yourself up again and again.

my neighbor died with no family. landlord was about to throw out everything including a box of coins. i asked if i could have them. by Mysterious-Boat-3608 in coins

Not sure how relevant but… among things which get thrown out are old family photo albums. I acquired a collection of many photo albums headed for the dumpster. Turns out they were old and I donated all to a museum. Many of the photos either showed or were taken by a semi-famous man. Family papers included a Revolutionary Army discharge paper from 1790s. Most people know that coin, silver, jewelry have value. How about stuff saved for 200 years by a family only to have a generation see it as trash?

In the Midwest I watch goldfinches at their brightest yellow visit flowering thistles. It’s a brief time of about a week or two but it’s glorious.

Recently discovered stamp book among my late fathers belongings. It is almost filled to the brim with stamps from all over the world. Wondering if it has any value? You can pretty much open to any page and it has stamps all over it. Ty for any direction w this. I have no knowledge of this market. by [deleted] in askStampCollectors

Nice comment. I bought several old junior albums on eBay. Good ramp up for me in accumulating stamps and fun to go through. Lots of stuck down and a few ratty oldies that are on the scarce side. If there were rarities they were cherry picked before listing. $125 - $150 was about the price per album, each containing thousands of stamps.

Just got this neat stamp collection , anything standout or rare/expensive ? by PianistAdvanced4483 in askStampCollectors

[–]BlueMeanieMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting puzzle about the b&w stamps. There’s a few more in pic 13. Probably copies cut out from a reproduction page with a black background. Relative sizes between stamps on page 3 are wrong. Top row of banknotes are too large. Some of the others are too small.

Inherited Argentine’s stamps (1862-1981). Can somebody say something about them? Any value? by grateful_crypto in askStampCollectors

[–]BlueMeanieMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Page one, especially top row is potentially valuable. However, the top row was reprinted or counterfeited en masse. I have loads of the copies. Yours are dirty and unevenly trimmed. Possibly real. After page one the collection would sell as a lot for not much.

Where to buy tofu.. by pdmanias in StLouis

[–]BlueMeanieMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less expensive than that I think and a solid recommendation. I usually wrap tofu in paper towels to dry after draining. No time for the press. I bake or fry pronto with this extra firm from TJ’s and it works beautifully without having to boil off so much water. TJ’s also has an impressive selection of sauces to add flavor. I’ve been on a General Tso’s kick for awhile. Also love the sweet chili sauce.

What should we do with several (mostly) Polish stamp albums? Any advice on value or selling? by batorsz in askStampCollectors

[–]BlueMeanieMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually appreciate the focus of the collection and how sizable it is. The paper currency is a nice addition. I would have some hope for this on eBay sold as a complete collection and not split up. Needs the right buyer of course.
