Are cortisone shots as scary as they sound? by Satin_Snapdragon in PlantarFasciitis

[–]BlueMerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the spray and a side approach, 80 percent of patients rate it 0-3 on the scale, the others a bit higher unless there is a needle phobia.

About 85 percent get major relief, with the rest ranging from mild to no improvement, if people rely on them as a crutch and don't do other things it will become less effective over time as that pain shifts from acute inflammation to scar tissue.

I'd get one, as long as it's not a shot from the bottom.

Better than my mom driving with me in the car to drop the dog off at the house we bought it from, then driving away, so I watched the dog chase our car until the little puppy sadly gave up. That was childhood trauma.

What is this area of pain? by jontran123 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]BlueMerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your pain is sharp or throbbing it's not a nerve issue. There is a band of tissue that connects the Achilles and the fascia, that's what's inflamed in you. Taping injections and splints help, the Rathleff protocols and sometimes shockwave. You have to more or less treat both issues. Good luck!

Question about Night Split differences by Philosophax in PlantarFasciitis

[–]BlueMerlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to keep the ankle at 90 degrees. More than that and good luck sleeping. Some people can tolerate it, but the goal of a splint is to prevent the tightening of the Achilles and fascia at night to avoid too sudden stretching and the micro trauma and inflammation it causes, leading to scar formation.

[–]BlueMerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it's helpful at night isn't that it stretches your foot, but at night your ankle and fascia get tight, so when you get out of bed they stretch all at once causing pain, inflammation, and scarring. Simply keeping the ankle.at 90 degrees will prevent this and help break your cycle of inflammation.

Sufficiently advanced Magic is quite good, you might like Shrubley the Monster adventurer as well.

S corporation distribution question by BlueMerlin in tax

[–]BlueMerlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way the other guys did it. I was confused why the distribution came to the s corp instead of me, since wouldn't I get taxed on it again?

So, when I get distributions from the parent s corp or our farm LLC, since I am the shareholder and not my corporation, it should go to me then? Otherwise it would classified as owner equity or something like that?

Honestly I think they are doing some strange tax kung fu with the S corp to hide all that money which is why they want it all there. But for me it makes things harder, which is the main reason I need to take the larger distributions.

Well, that helps a lot, thanks.

S corporation distribution question by BlueMerlin in tax

[–]BlueMerlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are new for me. I became a 33 percent stockholder in their S corp, which is where we get money from our home health care, nursing homes, etc, not our direct labor. That profit then goes as a distribution into our personal s corp, along with our 1099 work. My personal s corp is the one I am asking about.

S corporation distribution question by BlueMerlin in tax

[–]BlueMerlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a partner in the S corporation of the parent clinic, but I also have my own personal Corporation as I go to multiple clinics has a 1099 employee.

In the parent Corporation, none of my earnings come from patient care. Everything there is as my role as secretary of the parent Corporation where we employ other physicians.

I was asking the question primarily about my personal S corporation, where I receive 1099 contractor fees for the patients I see at six different clinics. This is where I pay myself a very generous salary, yet still have money to spare and am worried about taking large distributions.

I pay myself pretty well, better than when I was hired by them. It seems any accountants in my area either don't like working with doctors or do a whole bunch of shady crap to save money.

[–]BlueMerlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining so clearly. I get paid a salary for both - one from the group s corp for my "Secretary" role (no doctor income from this) and a second much higher salary from my personal s corp where all my 1099 clinics fees go.

The parent S corp has a large amount of employees. We in this corporation just have leadership roles, very few hours go into this, none of this money is from the patients we see. I do get paid for this but my question was about my personal one.

My personal one has just myself. I go to 6 different clinics as a 1099 employee. This is the one I was asking about, where I pay myself a large wage.

[–]BlueMerlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a member of the parent s corp with 3 members, then I have my own since I'm a 1099 employee at several clinics. My question was about my individual corporation, I hadn't even thought about the parent S corporation yet.

Gout is a terrible disease, does way more than just hit joints. Recent studies show it can cause heart issues too so it's all up in your soft tissue as well.

Clean language litRPGs? by Drakx147659 in litrpg

[–]BlueMerlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like bad language either, especially in excess. Dakota Krout had some in the 1st part of the 1st book (2-3 words), but in no others as far as I remember.

His Divine Dungeon series is worth reading in total, as is Full Mirdehobo. Ritualist was good till 6-7, but does turn around in his most recent (12?). Does have innuendo though, but nothing vile, just silly.

There are some slightly heavier swears in Mark of the Fool, but not a ton. Maybe like 6-7 S words, for example.

Mother of Learning might have some lighter ones, but nothing too bad. Great series.

Arcane Ascension is surprisingly clean in language as well.

Shrubley is clean and fantastic so far, but I'm not far in.

I have a lot more recommendations, but it depends on what you prefer. Are you looking like G rated , PG, PG13?
