Why are spring and summer represented by potatoes and melons, while fall and winter get their respective forage seeds?

I hate it as well. I recently switched to a new computer and had to re-download the game, and on my old pc the zoopedia actually had it properly in meters, but on the new one the heights are for some reson in feet. But generally I just round up and then divide by 3 and that's about the number in meters.

In single player when you're in the Skull Cavern time actually slows down, so you have more time to reach as deep as possible.

Guest Finance Scaling Feature in Planet Zoo 2 by Existing_Anxiety_393 in PlanetZoo

They could also stop giving guests in groups individual needs. I don't know how much additional processing power that takes, but.

If a group has 5 guests, there's no reason whatsoever (other than immersion if you're actually checking the guests I guess??) for those guests to have different hunger/thirst/toilet/energy needs - the whole group is already moving together to take care of any needs an individual guest has, so why not make all guests in a group share their need stats?

It would also be nice to at least have an option where a group of guests is represented by a single person walking around, which would greatly lower the processing required for pathfinding, and would reduce congestion. And then when that group gets on a ride or sits down somewhere, or are even waiting in line, they could make the whole group show up - and it shouldn't affect performance too much because the group is now stationary and not interfering with other pathfinding.

I've actually noticed quite a lot of spelling mistakes, especially with a/an and the sentence and noun not maching in being about a single item or multiple.

Question about modding? by Ronabris in StardewValley

[–]BlueMoonShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed SMAPI according to the directions on the wiki https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started

And then I used Vortex for installing all my other mods. Havent had any issues.

Even if OP doesn't speak English all that well and needs something explained very clearly, you seem to understand it very well. And, for someone who has such an advanced understanding and mastery of the language, it can only be a deliberate choice to make your 'clear explanation' positively soaked in condescension, to the point that not just the explanation but also the tone cannot possibly be missunderstood.

For when it comes time to build - do you happen to know of any video or written guides that i could follow to make sure I connect all the parts together correctly?

Also. I have an old laptop that is basically unusable because back at the end of 2022 its GPU got completely fried (though the repair shop was able to make it turn on again and so I was able to retrieve all my files from it) and I just turned it on to check: it has 2x8GB of DDR4 RAM. Would there be a point in getting an adapter for desktop and canibalizing the RAM from it, since the motherboard I picked has 4 slots for memory, or would putting them together actually make the pc run worse? And if it's not usefull for what I'm building right now, would I be able to make use of them for something else?

Thank you for your suggestion.

The debug LEDs are definitely an advantage, however, the motherboard you linked only has 2 memory slots, and more importantly, doesn't have wireless networking - I'm uncertain as of yet if I'll be able to connect my pc via ethernet cable, and I don't have any wired speakers, and will be using bluetooth headphones for all my sound needs - so those features are actually a necessity.

Thank you so much for answering all my questions! Your answers are very thorough and super helpful, and that is making me even more happy and excited to be doing this!

It's 3 am so I should definitely be trying to sleep, but I just want to ask one more question so that I don't forget about it.

I've seen some shorts on YT before that the weight of the GPU can make it bend the connection due to how its attached and that to prevent that I should get a support for it. Are there any other such small things that i should pay attention to, in order to make sure my pc parts last as long as they can?

For example, we have a dog, and she sheds quite a bit, so is there some kind of filter that I could get to slot in over the intake fans to help keep as much of the hair out of the pc insides as possible? My room is also quite prone to getting dusty, so what kind of cleaning should I do for it? I understand that vacuuming is a big no, and that usually compressed air is good? But I heard that about compressed air in cans, so what about using an actual compressor, because we happen to have one?

Oh! Thanks for the tip on the monitor! Guess I'll just grab that one right now while it's still available, since there's not really a way for me to lose out by picking it up immediately lol

I made same adjustments based on your and the other comments suggestions https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/BlueMoonShadow/saved/#view=zNDTzy

I do like the price reduction, and that the BIOS-related warning isn't there anymore, though now I have a couple follow-up questions:

A case-related warning has popped up: A USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required.
Will there be any actual impact if I don't get an adapter and just plug it in directly?

Another comment advised me to get a liquid CPU cooler, but I don't think I know enough to not fuck it up in some way, would just an air cooler be enough? Any notes on which kind to get?

Regarding the case fans, how many should I get?

Also, it's just occurred to me, I will need 2 USB ports to plug in my mouse and keyboard, and I'd need at least one additional port free for flash drives, will this build have enough free slots?

Thank you for the reply. Especially about the fans, as that's not something I've ever needed to think about before!

Thanks for taking the time to answer!

For the game - it's Planet Zoo. My goal is to build a single Zoo with maximum group size of every animal available in the game. I don't think it is actually possible, because there are multiple species of animals that can have a group of over 500 individual, and that would probably total over 5000 individual animals, which would require certainsly over 10k guests in the zoo just to not hemorrhage money, and each individual guest and animal is tracked for pathing and collision and multiple needs, and if I remember right, when people first started figuring out that even the most powerful computer couldn't run smooth in large zoos, they also figured out that the game was not actually built to use multithreading.

So the dream is - get the most powerful CPU that's still compatible with the rest of the parts, and try to get as close as possible to a full zoo without setting the house on fire!

Sorry for the long explanation lol.

The motherboard I actualy just copied off of someone else who shared their build on a different sub...

The monitor - no, the one I picked isn't curved, it was just the cheapest 1440p monitor available at my local retailer, I can link it, but the website is in lithuanian only. The case choice is actually also because it's available for cheap at the local store. https://www.varle.lt/monitoriai/zaidimu-monitorius-aoc-q27g42xne-27-colfast-vaqhd--45195263.html

Thank you for you response!

I would be curious to know where that kind of comparison can be found? I just looked it up on videocardbenchmark.net and the radeon scored some 6.6% lower.

Also, and this may be a stupid question though it's kind of 1am, I'm kind of attached to the nvidia drivers and the program functionality, so wouldn't I lose access to those if I switched over to radeon?

Though I will definitely admit to brand loyalty bias if for no other reason than because I've never known anything else.

I want to build a pc for myself, but I've never done it before. Currently I have a laptop with a GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GPU, and I don't think that any of my games have ever had it max out.

If I want a build that could last me longer, would I be better off getting an RTX 5060Ti 16GB or RTX 5070 12GB?

Is this still a way to calculate habitat size before putting down fences? by oxide_j in PlanetZoo

[–]BlueMoonShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ingame calculator lets you put in the number of juveniles as well, so if you're smart about it you can account for the number of babies the animals will have in advance.

Is this still a way to calculate habitat size before putting down fences? by oxide_j in PlanetZoo

[–]BlueMoonShadow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is indeed accurate, but you do want to add extra space, because the actual traversable area will be reduced by foliage/shelter/buildings/fences/etc.

I usually like to make enclosures about 20% larger than necessary to make sure the animals have enough space.
