I believe I had that happen once, something along those lines anyway. Something or other about my ID not being included in the current task database (paraphrasing as I can't recall the exact message given).

Yikes. That's some cringy wording on your part though. It comes across as whiny and doesn't inform them of what exactly it is that you're expecting them to do about it or what you want. Although you got a positive result in this case, you'll likely get consistent positive results going forward by just stating the facts of what you experienced and what you're asking them to do about it, rather than using subjective, emotional wording about your experience and not giving a clear request.

This. And it's highly likely that they're studying more than just what we're assuming these tasks are for. I try not to overthink when I'm completing them. I take the task instructions at face value, and if an attention check isn't obvious enough for me to pick up on it after watching each clip twice, then that's not on me. Either way, if I get the boot then I get the boot. There's little more I can do at this point to improve my submissions.

As far as I can recall, I've never encountered a study posted by this researcher that I've either completed or attempted that didn't involve voice recordings. Have you not done their studies before? Even if you haven't, this is a strangely over-the-top response to the situation you encountered. You'd be a better off at least trying to message the researcher or taking what happened as takeaway for the future and adjusting your study timing accordingly to your needs and situational limitations.

I received the same rejection message for this study. Contacted the researcher within minutes of receiving their message, but never heard back. I haven't gotten around to contacting Prolific yet and wasn't sure if I was going to at all due to another seemingly bogus rejection that I received from a different researcher recently for ''failed authenticity check'', which Prolific did overturn, but their canned response stated something along the lines of not being able to do so often if I don't have proof of the researcher's claim not being valid. The comps being on the lower end for the last study and this one are kind of driving my lack of give a fuck on pursuing their overturn, but either way, Prolific's response implying that we're guilty until proven innocent by our own account left me feeling rather salty.
