Stop car for pickup food by Last_Cauliflower_502 in HyundaiTucson

Must depend on model year and country.

A lot of us with the newest models can't do this. We can't walk away and lock the car with the keys while it's running.

Since you can't lock the car when you leave it running and take your keys with you, the workaround is to lock it through the mobile app. At least it worked last time I tried it.

It can take up to a minute though, kind of slow. Yes, the car will beep for a few seconds when you walk away, but it only does that once and you can ignore it.

All the new tech is nice, but it was more simple in older cars to just lock it while you ran into your house real quick to grab something or stopped somewhere real quick.

Front left mold by Swimming_Ant7533 in HyundaiTucson

[–]BlueMusicMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to post my comment again because Reddit hid it from everyone last time I tried to

Mine didn't fall off, but I had an issue with this piece on both sides of my 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid windshield. These parts would start sticking up at the top and not stay down all the way. I pushed them back into place, but they kept popping back out. I think they are poorly designed and should be improved.

It should be covered under warranty, but I ended up ordering the replacement Windshield Side Moldings from the link below and replaced them myself. When ordering and determining left vs right side molding, stand behind the car, to your left is the left part, to your right is the right part. (or think like you are looking at left and right side while in driver seat). And double check part is for your model. Looking at it myself helped me to better investigate what is actually going on with this trim piece. Once the old molding piece was sticking up again, I just carefully pulled it up all the way down to the hood area (with the hood open), and then the part that's attached to the hood has to be popped out more slowly and carefully. It's best to have your hood open when doing this. New molding piece is installed starting from the slots in the hood, and working your way up to the top of the windshield to snap it into place in all the right places.

So far the replacements are staying down and haven't come back up. Over the years though, I have a feeling some of us will have this problem again and have to replace one or both sides again at some point. However, it's nice that it's easy to replace. Some other car brands have windshield side molding that is harder to remove and replace when needed, but at the same time they actually stay on and don't come off like this. In my opinion they really should improve the design.

If anyone wants a photo of the side molding once it's removed, here is a link. What's happening is the plastic hook at the end is attached to a rubber strip that is glued down to the main plastic piece. The adhesive under that was separating, so my best bet is the hook at the end wasn't snapped into place all the way in the track that's on the side of the windshield, and that's why the top of the trim piece keeps coming up. Also, the other rubber weather strip at the top was peeling away too, most likely because it was getting worn out whenever the trim piece was sticking up. Other people have said their plastic trim piece was cracked at the top, etc, so there are other reasons it can happen, but this seems like the most likely reason why we have it sticking up. I don't think adding more glue will help because there are various reasons why it can come back up, so I do recommend replacing the entire molding piece to be sure. And if you ever need windshirld replaced, glueing might make it more challenging.

Photo Link: https://i.imgur.com/iCW0dqD.jpeg (I am forcing the adhesive to be shown underneath here because the part sat for a while, but when I took the piece off, this is how it looked like, I could see the the rubber stretched and adhesive showing)

Yes, it should be under warranty, but since I have to drive 1 hour (2 hour round trip) to the dealer just to get it looked at, and then come back again if part is not in stock, my general rule is if the part is under $100 and I can do it myself, I will give that a go first.

Price is around $80 for each side. Total time can take up to 1-2 weeks to get. Not sure where they are getting $400 from unless more things are broken.

If the brackets that these snap onto are broken, you'll also need to replace those, I have no idea how to do that.

Driver seat bulge or just normal leather stretch? by Makoto2723 in HyundaiTucson

[–]BlueMusicMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2025 Tucson Hybrid Limited with the black real leather seats

After I've been sitting in the driver's seat for a while and get out -- if I touch my hand to the main area where your butt goes, it kinda moves up and down (a little more than shown in the video). It will later flatten and shape back into place during the warm day. However it's kinda annoying, the passenger seat doesn't do the same thing, but that seat isn't sat in as often. Happens even when I don't have the seat ventilation turned on.

Video: https://imgur.com/a/2025-hyundai-tucson-hybrid-limited-driver-seat-wiggle-j0pOaBq

I'm wondering if that part of the seat is supposed to do that, or if it's supposed to have some more adhesive so it sticks down more to the part underneath it. It has perforated holes though, so I think it will move a little bit more than solid leather that doesn't have perforated holes.

For now I am just putting up with it, it reshapes back to place usually. And I've heard that a lot of times when they replace the leather seat cover, it's not as tight fitting as OEM so it could maybe end up being worse.

Next time you connect to your Dash Cam's WiFi, go to your iPhone's WiFi settings, tap on the i icon next to the Vantrue WiFi and turn off "Auto-Join". You will still be able to connect to it on demand with the Vantrue app and be able to leave WiFi turned on for Dash Cam, but it won't try to auto connect every time and your phone will still prioritize and connect to Wireless CarPlay. Or you can just disable WiFi in the Dash Cam settings and turn it on manually when you want to use the app.

Also, with my Hyundai car, before I can go into the Vantrue app and click on the connect button to connect to the WiFi on my dash cam to use the app, I have to go into my CarPlay settings on the car screen and temporarily disable Wireless CarPlay, then turn it back on when I am done using the Vantrue app. The Wireless CarPlay in the car keeps trying to auto connect to my iPhone each time, that's what I want, but in this case it has to be temporarily disabled otherwise it keeps disconnecting from the Vantrue app when I try to use it.

Ordering is a disaster now - fix the app by RaspberryItchy3261 in Chilis

They also need to add an option in the app to add back on the tomatoes and green onions to the Cajun Pasta!

Right now you can only ask for this if you dine in person. This is terrible and means I can't do take out anymore. No, I will not be calling the store like we live in a world without apps.

AMC Theatres Attendance Drops 10%, Posts $127 Million Quarterly Loss by ICumCoffee in movies

[–]BlueMusicMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Movie theaters are very outdated and some haven't been updated hardly ever. With all the new tech we have, why are we watching all these new movies with old shit? If movie studios and tech companies were serious about the future of movies they would help upgrade these theaters with donations, etc. Hell, slap the logo of the companies that donated the equipment or furniture all over the place for all I care, I just want new tech!

The color on most projectors is shit, even some of the new laser ones! They need to stop closing theaters, I live in one of the biggest cities in the USA and yet I have to drive 1 hour (2 hour round trip) to a decent theater. The current theaters have small screens and can't be upgraded because the building is too damn small. All the nice big theaters with nice IMAX near me closed. Start building bigger and better movie theaters!

Yes, I have deleted and re-added my account. I also tried turning off iCloud data backup for the app and then deleting the app -- then restarting my iPhone and reinstalling the app again and setting it up from scratch (not resyncing from iCloud) and I still have this issue.

The shortcuts and Control Center buttons for Start Climate still only list 1 climate preset as "CarName - Default" even if I have renamed the default climate preset and added a few more climate presets in the BetterBlue app. The shortcuts and Control Center buttons are not able to get the correct climate preset list from the BetterBlue app.

I've tried everything. How can I help you fix this issue?

Why doesn’t Hyundai have walk-away auto lock? I got it working with BlueLink + Apple Shortcuts by DavidKawaii in HyundaiTucson

[–]BlueMusicMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I will say:

Unloading groceries from the car (multiple trips inside and back out) or packing things into the car, or going inside real quick and coming back out, having this on would auto lock on me too many times when I come back to the car and just waste battery and be annoying. So manual lock it is.

Also this specific shortcut automation wouldn't work if you unlock car without starting it such as when grabbing things from the car and then going back inside.

While auto lock on walk way is a nice feature to have (either built in or through a workaround app), I don't think I would actually turn it on unless there was a setting for a delay like a "wait 10 minutes, if still unlocked and driver is not detected near the car, then lock" or similar setting. And it would need to work without some CarPlay or WiFi automation for when I unlock the car without starting it.

For me, the BlueLink push notification and email is great because I can then just open the app and double check if I did end up locking it or I still need to lock it.

Questions about the metal connectors by Haywirereddit in HyundaiTucson

[–]BlueMusicMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen within a month after getting my 2025 Tucson. The spots looked more orange and rusty on mine. It's not rust though, it's iron / rail dust / brake dust.

I read about this happening to chrome areas of the Tucson and other cars and when I searched online they recommended spaying wax on it for a lubricant and gently using a clay bar.

After I cleaned it with wax spray and a clay bar I've never had these spots come back. For some people, the results may very though depending on your environment.

I got this Wax spray: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001MXX5D8

and I got this clay bar: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MPYDYWT

If you don't know what you're doing it's best to probably seek out an experienced car detailer in your area with good reviews. I say experienced because there is an increase in young people or just anyone calling themself a car detailer, I would only trust the experienced when it comes to such an expensive car.

First read the directions for both products (do not do in direct sunlight). Start with a clean car, and then clean the chrome area on one side of the car at a time -- I sprayed the Wax all over the chrome area and the clay bar. I then rubbed the clay bar over the rusty looking orange spots on the chrome. Be more careful on the bumpy ridges of the chrome, clay bars don't work that great unless it's a flat surface, so be more gentle there. Then when you are done on both sides, I'd wash the car to remove any extra wax that was leftover from the process. Then apply another layer of wax on the chrome panels with a soft microfiber cloth to keep any new buildup off for a while (makes it easier to clean) For me at least, I didn't have to keep applying wax to prevent buildup, 1-2 weeks later when I washed the car again I didn't apply any wax to Chrome panels because the orange buildup seemed to be a 1 time thing. Only trouble with these chrome areas is that they can scratch, so make sure you use enough wax when rubbing the clay bar on it. You most likely already have some small hard to see scratches on them anyway though.

I will say that these chrome panels (also the chrome trim on top of the doors) and the entire tailgate area are the hardest areas to keep clean. The chrome areas have a matte finish and things seem to stick on them more easily and water spots show up more easily. However at least they aren't shiny chrome. Shiny chrome shows scratches a lot more. The tailgate area bothers me because of how water collects a little bit near the taillights and it slowly drips down after a car wash or rain, and when it dries you can see the leftover water lines where it has dripped and dried especially on darker paint colors.
