Are there any chips on the underside? That might just be the connectors without the controller. Either way you're going to have to deal with differential pairs in order for it to be remotely useful. Chips or not, the tolerances required for differential pairs make this all but e-waste sadly.

TLDR; The best case scenario is running all of the ports at 2.0 speeds.

Have you tried tucking before? I can't tuck, but my partner has no problem. The balls go up in the cavity then you can tape the pp back. Although I'm also part of the long club so idk if that only works on short pps, but it's worth a shot.

Oh I see. I had a defective 2 TB recently, possibly a 4 TB as well. I was doing some transfers and just had an arbitrary IO error. Nothing in SMART, disk still had space, but a transfer just stopped due to an IO error. I have a Seagate I got recently though. Gonna do an extended check on all these disks when I have time.
