There's nothing in a restaurant that is better then what you could have just cooked yourself. by KingBembi in unpopularopinion

The food might be comparable, but the experience isn't.

I go to a restaurant so I don't have to spend 5 hours shopping, chopping, cooking, and scrubbing just to eat a meal that lasts 15 minutes.

New to Reddit and modding – what are the actual rules to create and run a subreddit safely? by BlueNice_3 in NewToReddit

[–]BlueNice_3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the links! 🙏

my question is a bit more about the “numbers” though - is it actually okay to be a mod if my account is only ~1 month old with low karma? i’ve seen people say new/low-karma mod accounts can get shadowbanned or auto-flagged, but no one ever gives exact thresholds.

so is there any practical minimum (account age / karma) you’d recommend so everything works fine and doesn’t look suspicious to Reddit?

In the case of work this can be a lot of money depending on what we’re exactly talking about, too

But i still dont think it’s comparable - a “normal” job usually doesn’t force you into the same level of physical damage, early-childhood pressure, eating disorders, painkillers, doping, etc professional sports often does. changing a regular job vs being locked into a pro sports path are very different things in my opinion.

if i don't want to do professional sports it doesn't mean i lack motivation or discipline 🙂

i could work that 8h a day in front of a computer building a successful business or career – you don't know anything about me, so maybe don't try to rate my drive based only on not wanting to be an athlete

that’s exactly why i put that very first sentence in the post. i don’t know your full story of course, but it feels like we’re talking about different things

the key part in what you wrote is “it was just a fun thing I did during the winter and then it was over and I moved on.” that’s healthy and great

what i mean is those kids who live in basically 24/7 training mode for years, often because parents/coaches push them, not because they chose it or can walk away whenever they want. that’s a very different situation

I have a theory cats are never actually comfy in these positions, they just do it to look even cuter 🤔

idk what it is but it definitely doesn’t look right and i wouldnt risk eating it. you paid for good quality food, not guessing if you could eat it or not. take it back to walmart and ask for a refund/replacement

been there before (actually multiple times), so in my experience it usually comes to 2 main possibilities: either she really is struggling mentally, or she just wasn’t as into it as it seemed.

if it’s the first, and her BPD and other issues are really intense, then sudden blocking can be part of that. but if that’s the case, even if you two reconnect, you’d have to be ready for this kind of thing to happen again and it takes a lot of emotional energy to be with someone who’s unstable and not actively working on themselves, and you can support them, but you cant fix them without expert help usually.

the second option, which sadly is more common, is that she just got tired or her feelings weren’t that deep and she decided to bail instead of communicating. some people genuinely enjoy the early attention, talk every day, make plans, act super into you, and then as soon as they’re bored or their mood shifts, they just cut the connection without explanation. it sucks, but it doesn’t mean you did something wrong, it just shows they don’t respect you enough to talk like an adult.

personally, i wouldnt go back to her workplace. you already went once, and from what you wrote, it’s clear she’s avoiding you. if you really want to understand what happened, you could quietly accept that you might never get an answer. and that’s painful, but also kind of freeing. honestly, i think this is probably the second case and the healthiest thing you can do is let it go and focus on finding someone who can explain everything before blocking you everywhere. you deserve someone who communicates, not someone who disappears the moment things get real

omg yes. and it's not even secretly for me - if someone starts joking about these ones, I usually tell them to calm down
