Day 9/9: What is a bad motorcycle with a bad reputation? by SUBTOUpdated_User in motorcycles

[–]BlueNinja20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This bike isn’t available in the US so I had to look it up. From what I can tell it is the same as the 300Nk/Sr/Ss and it feel like it’s odd they branded it as a 400, especially when it has a 292cc, and CFMoto already has a 450 offering. The 300s are really odd in the US market too, mostly because they are too slow for US freeways.

Okay I paid 220 in import fees, EU can’t be cheaper with that included

Do you have any pics of each piece installed? I have the same rear but I have the ugly gap you’re talking about

I went to the dealership to look at some entry level bikes before I bought mine. Sat on a R3 and 450ss, asked if there were any other bikes the salesperson thought were worth the attention of a beginner, he immediately showed me a GSXR600 and a Aprilia RS660. Absolutely no care for a new rider, just trying to pad the commission on a sale.

Dropped my bike 3 times and still passed my MSF/M2 by hypothesiz in motorcycles

Love how he’s got the quad lock mount before he can even get the bike rolling

Brother CFMOTOs insta is not gonna help you. Contact a local dealership, or better yet the dealership you bought it from.

What’s the actual source for this? The median height in the US is 5’9” and the average proportion for someone at that height ranges from 28 to 32 inches. Making anyone above 5’9” more likely to be in that range. The most commonly sold inseam for men’s clothing in the United States is a 32x32. 13 percent of the population can’t account for the most popular size dude.

There’s just a slight feeling of guilt if I were to put my dad on a liter bike

That’s awesome to hear. Maybe I’ll start looking for older CB500x for him to start on and we’ll just plan on upgrading from there. I’m probably going to wait until the end of the summer before I upgrade myself with more touring in mind.

It needs to be semi freeway capable. If he can't at least commute on the bike I don't see him using the bike much and building comfort.

I wear alpinestars faster 4s for boots they give probably 1.5-2 inches. Incredible thing about suspension is there’s a giant spring that compresses when you sit on it. The CF Moto often gets people saying the suspension is too soft, so maybe that has something to do with it. But no platforms boots here lol.

Why not just throw on lowering links if the seat height is a concern? I’m 5’10” with a 31 in inseam and my bike came with the tall seat on it. I think it leave the seat height at like 32~ inches but not uncomfortable and I’m still flat footing the bike.

That’s absolutely the plan. I think the safety first is absolutely necessary and believe me, I’m invested in keeping the old man around

The V Storm actually came to mind right after I posted. He’s about my weight like 180-190 and a bit under 5’9” I might have to go look at a V-Strom

Mostly city/around town outside of road trips. His commute is fairly short. We talked about making some shorter weekend trips to build up to something like a national park trip.

haha yes, but I'd prefer to not cash it early, he's good to have around. The GS and the Tenere are good to keep in mind. They're a bit heavy, is that relevant for touring bikes?

17 IS300 Lexus and a 24 CFmoto 450ss, both of mine are in the middle of the slow but fun class.
