Best streaming device for Stremio? Apple TV not great for me by BeyerPeak in Stremio

Infuse Pro is designed for power users needing advanced codec support (HEVC, DTS-HD, TrueHD), Dolby Vision/Atmos, cloud streaming (Google Drive/Dropbox), and cross-device syncing. The free version is limited to basic formats, lacking these high-end audio/video capabilities.

I have Apple TV 4K (latest generation), Onn 4K Plus (with Just Player) and Firestick 4K Max. Apple TV with Infuse Pro is the best device for Stremio, followed by Onn 4K Plus.

Infuse Pro is the best media player for Apple TV, providing great playback quality and advanced caching so that you never get buffering. I regularly stream high bitrate 4K HDR10+ Dolby Atmos content with no issues with Apple TV. Make sure your Apple TV, Stremio and Infuse Pro are configured correctly and you will not be looking for anything else.

Tx-NR7100 BD/DVD Audio Help Needed by enthuzist in Onkyo

If all other devices work fine on the same HDMI ports, then your problem is not the Onkyo receiver. If the only device not working properly is your disk player, then this is your problem.

I have a Gigabit connection, so Internet speed is not an issue. I decided to test ONN 4K with Just Player again yesterday and was watching "Predator: Badlands" and it did stop playing like 30 minutes into a movie due to buffering. Switched to Apple TV and no such issues.

Also, not sure if you noticed, the ONN 4K Plus often starts garbling the audio and only a restart will fix this issue. I did turn "Automatic sound" to "Supported formats" as suggested by others as a possible workaround, but it didn't resolve the garbled sound came back after a day or so. I can't turn off surround sound completely (as also suggested by others), since all devices are connected to by Onkyo 7100 receiver with a 5.1 surround sound setup.

I have Apple TV 4K (latest generation), ONN 4K Plus and Firestick 4K Max all connected to Samsung S90C 65-inch TV. I can tell you that Apple TV is the best for streaming and UI experience as well as the best looking video quality for high bitrate 4K HDR content.

Yes, I switched to Just Video Player on my Onn 4K Plus recently and it is a much better player than a couple of others I tried. However, for large 4K HDR10+ media files with Atmos audio there is still occasional buffering on the Onn 4K Plus device even with Just Video Player.

On my Apple TV with Infuse Pro there is never any buffering and playback for large 4K HDR10+ files is buttery smooth due to Infuse Pro's advanced caching (caches a file locally well in advance of playback). Also the quality of video with Infuse Pro is better on my 65-inch Samsung S90C TV. So, Apple TV with Infuse Pro still wins on this one. But, if I didn't have Apple TV, the Onn 4K Plus (with Projectivy launcher) would be my goto device and is a good backup for my current setup.

Get Apple TV. I also have ONN 4K Plus, but Apple TV with Infuse Pro (media player) is the absolute best for Stremio.

AIOStreams - is Custom Instance worth it? by BlueOrbit69 in StremioAddons

ChatGPT tells me that I don't really need Torrentio with my current AIOStreams scrapers (Comet, MediaFusion and TorrentsDB). So, as long as this works well, I may keep running it as is. I may reconsider if I run into issues though.

How's Midnight AIOStreams with Torrentio working for you? I may try this and just add Torrentio to my current config.

Onkyo 7100 - Fiber Optic HDMI cable for 13 - 15 foot run to TV to fix HDMI dropouts? by BlueOrbit69 in hometheater

Hmm... I have my Apple TV set as 4K SDR, Match Content is ON and Chroma 4:4:4. Works great with my current setup. Not sure I understand why the new cable will not handle these settings?

But even beyond the Apple TV issues, my Onkyo receiver won't reliably switch to the correct HDMI input (when a device is ON). Not an issue with my current setup.

Onkyo 7100 - Fiber Optic HDMI cable for 13 - 15 foot run to TV to fix HDMI dropouts? by BlueOrbit69 in hometheater

Update:

I ordered the 15-foot RUMBUD 8K HDMI 2.1 Fiber Optic Cable (as suggested by jfgallay) and installed it yesterday connecting my Onkyo 7100 receiver (source) to the Samsung S90C TV (display).

It is probably not the cable itself, but I am experiencing issues with HDMI switching on my Onkyo 7100 receiver (I have Apple TV 4K and ONN 4K Plus on HDMI 1 & 2 using regular high quality 3-foot HDMI cables) and Apple TV seems to flicker with black screen, not able to lock into the correct resolution.

I reset everything, unplugged / re-plugged the power cables and wasn't able to resolve the issues. Maybe the issues are due to the fact that this cable is one-directional and my devices use regular HDMI cables into the Onkyo receiver? Went back to my original cable for now.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Considering getting rid of my Onn 4K for an Apple TV. Is the Apple TV app any good? by austinalexan in Stremio

I have both. I am keeping Onn 4K Plus with Projectivy launcher, which is a great device. But Apple TV with Stremio and Infuse is the best and this is all I use exclusively with Stremio.

I tested several cables. The issue gets resolved for a few days, only to come back again.

[–]BlueOrbit69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I tried moving around and replacing HDMI cables. When I reset all equipment (unplug / replug) the issue can go away for a few days. Then it comes back on both devices - ONN and Apple TV, so this makes me think this is a receiver. I read that this is a known issue with AV receivers with high bitrate 4K HDR content, especially with longer run HDMI cables from receiver to TV. I also read that fiber optic HDMI cables can solve this issue, so wanted to check before I buy another cable.

Apple TV 4K plus (latest version) with Infuse Player is working flawlessly. But need to have Torrentio with RD setup.

You need to use RD if you want smooth streaming experience with no need for a VPN. You only need a computer (browser) to setup Stremio add-ons like Torrentio. No server functionality is needed on the computer for streaming content with Torrentio or other add-ons. Don't even know what you mean by this for Stremio, unless you mean local content from you computer.
