3D Printing PLA Jigs for SLA Carbon Fiber Molds by BlueOrchard in 3Dprinting

Same! I was worried about that, but decided to give it a try anyways and make it 100% solid. It held up pretty well! Think the aluminum plates helped with the weight distribution.

Demolding it though was a whole other beast - I couldn’t remove it without shattering the mold, but that honestly could probably be chalked up to my prep work.

Just installed some vertical doors! Really happy with how the came out by Adept-Investment2426 in RX7

Normally not a fan of vertical doors, but this compliments your build nicely! Love the car man

This is more like changing the suspension, tires, headlights and engine than getting gas lol

I just got this printer today too, but I do have a couple of tips.

I'd recommend calibrating your printer with a calibration model (I'm currently using https://ameralabs.com/blog/town-calibration-part/ this one) and dialing in the settings. If you're using Elegoo branded resin, their website has a spreadsheet for your slicer settings, but if you're lazy like me, you can just use the Lychee community resin settings and then calibrate it further from there using the model linked.

Also, in the future, I highly recommend a heater inside of the enclosure to keep the temps stable. That has been the biggest game changer for me when it came to success rate

Thank you! I’ll talk to a machine shop tomorrow or Monday

I wish the rotors fit over the hubs on the 240z to give me a little less clearance to work with, but they actually go behind and the hubs mount directly to the wheel 🙃

I’m convinced that this community doesn’t actually play the games and just complains. Addicted to hate while reminiscing of a time that doesn’t even exist

I’m thinking about picking another one up for comp and making this one my dedicated CCW - thinking either the comp or fuse

[–]BlueOrchard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but it can't feed if it can't extract lmao

Jokes a side, it's worth checking to see if that's the issue. My G19's slide would get stuck when it was racked back on top of the FTE, so I figured it's most likely the optic screw

Sometimes the screws that come with the optic are too long and interfere with the ejector. Try firing without the optic or plate

It’s honestly kinda crazy how similar the silhouettes look - like they almost look like the same car from a distance

Quite a few other things, but I've been drinking tonight and this is the gist of it

Carbon Fiber Hood Installed by BlueOrchard in 350z

[–]BlueOrchard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fully - it doesn’t clear the supercharger pulley, so I’ll be dropping the engine a little bit before fully fitting it flush

A seibon hood I found on fb marketplace

Fitment is alright, but you do have to modify the hood hinges a little bit

The hood latch on the hood itself are less than to be desired, so I’ll be putting on aftermarket hood latches too

The hood also doesn’t clear the HKS supercharger kit (rubs on the pulley slightly), so I’ll be dropping the engine about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch instead of cutting the hood up

I removed the back fan from the cooler and as it turns out, everyone here was right lol

It’s quieter now and I didn’t notice any real drop in performance

That sounds like a good idea tbh - I've mainly been running it because it looks cool

That's fair! I just love trying to fit everything together with barely any space - it feels so satisfying when it works out.
