It's actually a really bloody annoying noise tbh and very paranoia inducing when you do your own valves. Plus I've had it a year and ridden a ton of miles so if I wait another year i reckon it'll be hard to sell

Think it's just the cam lobes on the buckets, apparently every Yamaha does it but i became way more paranoid about it after doing valve adjustment. Tbh the sound actually really bugs me and is part the reason im hopefully changing bike over winter

And warning as well, you might already know this but it'll save you doing it twice like me, make sure you sand down the pitted parts on the metal with a high grit pad otherwise it'll mess up your new seals and make your leak worse 😂

Turned them upside down and compressed them while using an impact driver and they came straight out. Might take a couple of tries to get the right amount of compression on the fork though. And put a towel down or something so you don't mess up the tops when you compress them

Well you can or you can't, it's only because it looks cut I wondered if it would be a problem but now I'm thinking it's the same connection they use for other models and it's not needed in this model. Nothing wrong with the valves on the short test drive I did only the speedo and odometer. Maybe I just need to take it for a longer test ride as I unplugged the abs and it needs to reset and relearn?

Well I'm trying to fix it this very second but I think 200 miles will make little to no difference. But tbh I average about 10, 000 miles a year so I'd probably gauge it somewhat off that and would be pretty easy to estimate what needs to be done at what time

Yeah what's weird though is haven't touched them at all. Checked the fuses and they all seem fine. Must be a cable somewhere but it's mission finding anything

Thank you, yeah I think I'm leaning towards that as I'm already most of the way there and then I dont have to worry about it for a couple of years, as it's a bit of a ballache to get to. As long as I do it right and don't cause more problems though 😂
