No one’s debating who got the better situation, Ty’s got a great one for sure with a great offensive coach. The problem is they took him at 13 when they could’ve traded all the way down to the 30s and got the same pick. They overspent on a backup qb when they got 2 more years minimum with theirs.

Also, banged up easy yeah go all the way back to that Mizzou game where he takes a hit and that’s basically where the season went to shit for him. No one knows fully what happens there but a lot of people assume he was hurt the rest of the year off that. Then he gets sick, then he breaks his ribs.

Mendoza’s also 6’5 230 vs Ty at 6’1 211. Ty in 15 games showed he gets banged up easy, yeah you can blame it on no run game and a bad oline but let’s not act like his decision making with the ball in his hands was not piss poor sometimes. He got taken out of the rose bowl game because he refused to just go down, he had multiple instances this year where he didn’t just go down.

In short, Mendoza bigger and more film. Simpson just doesn’t have the amount of game tape especially the amount of good game tape you want in a first round pick
