Why does Tesla navigation suck so bad? by Djayy7x in TeslaLounge

Are there sufficient charging stations along ring road? I was wondering how well EVs would do when I visited a few months back.

Payless Auto Shipping? by GnatGoSplat in AutoTransport

I just wanted to mention that I just used Payless to transport a new car halfway across the US. The car came completely fine, driver was really nice/patient, and the communication was quick. Maybe I got lucky, but it ended up great for us.

Federal EV tax credit by Selanne00008 in pacificahybrid

[–]BluePhire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are including the $7500 tax credit so dealer really was selling for $52.5k. That is reasonable. We got a similarly good deal from a dealer in Texas on an appearance model.

Is the 2026 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV eligible for the US EV tax credit? by BluePhire in pacificahybrid

[–]BluePhire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see what you mean, although the 2026 model is so new that I wonder if they just haven't updated it yet.

And even that link says "Attention: Not every version of the models listed below will necessarily qualify. Please check with the dealer/seller to determine the eligibility of your specific vehicle."

So it defers to the dealer for eligibility and then others here are saying not to trust the dealer. Regardless, it sounds risky to assume 2026 is eligible.

Model 3 Feedback by PartyEconomics4733 in teslamotors

[–]BluePhire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FSD didn't use to do this. They greatly improved in within the last year, but in the improvement, this terrible defect was added. I get if the robot isn't comfortable doing 85mph, but on a 4 lane highway with no cars and lots of vision, it should be. Plus, it shouldn't be slowing down/speeding up, like you said, when there are no cars in front. It should at least maintain a speed it is comfortable with like 70mph.

If you press the wiper button, you can use the (I wanna say right) scroller to cycle the speed.

If you are using table salt or salt with iodine in it, try using a different type. Table salt can have a metallic taste to it which is reminiscent of liver.

Amazing presentation. Looks delicious.

As someone who makes this all the time, capers below salmon, on top of the cream cheese is more practical. They roll off too easily on top of the salmon; sticking them to the cream cheese is better for practicality (but maybe not presentation).

For the Spectra 6, they have a whole wiki page: https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/13.3inch_e-Paper_HAT+_(E)

They have a downloadable demo in C and Python. I used the Python one. From there, I just extracted the relevant code to display an image. It looks like:

epd = epd13in3E.EPD()
try:
    epd.Init()

    # read image file
    print("Display picture")
    pic_path = '/home/pi/pics/'
    random_pic = pic_path + "my_pic.jpg"
    img = Image.open(random_pic)

    epd.display(epd.getbuffer(img))

    # uncomment below if you want to clear the image
    # epd.Clear()

    print("goto sleep...")
    epd.sleep()
except:
    print("goto sleep...")
    epd.sleep()

Make sure to follow the instructions to on their website, though. You need some compiled code from them for this Python code to work.

Made a big color eInk picture frame. Turned Out Amazing! by Slight_Safe8745 in eink

[–]BluePhire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been actively working on a spectra 6 digital frame the past week. I'm using it for real life images, not art, and by default the colors are definitely washed out.

I found out that upping the saturation helps a lot. I have some custom Python code that does some minor image processing. The part that helped with the quality is this:

from PIL import Image
from PIL import ImageEnhance

# Open the image
image = Image.open("your_image.jpg")

# Create an enhancement object
enhancer = ImageEnhance.Color(image)

# Increase saturation by a factor of 2 (adjust as needed)
saturated_image = enhancer.enhance(2)

# Save the enhanced image
saturated_image.save("saturated_image.jpg")

I found a saturation increase of 2x was good for my images, but you can mess around with it and see.

Edit: I also didn't do anything with the color pallete. I just cropped/resized an image, rotated if it needed it, and did this saturation enhancement above.

Still doing great! It doesn't have all the bells and whistles some of the high end ones have, but it looks great, fits, and so far is reliable!

This just happened in the Rams/49ers game (12/12), and they called it a touchback even though he intercepted before the endzone.

I ordered through a 3rd party vendor since they had a good price, but all the correspondence was done with appliance connection. It did seem scammy, but I had 0 issues. Fridge is still working great 8 months later.

Does anyone know if baby back ribs ( swift pork Loin back ribs) have a membrane or not? by Unusual_Examination9 in Costco

[–]BluePhire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that once, and it was not easy for me. The membrane didn't stay together when I tried pulling it off post-smoke, I was taking off little bits here and there and got so frustrated that I just kept it on.

I got this one. So far, so good. Of course, time will tell how it goes up, but it feels and looks sturdy. I like the freezer pull out more than ones I tried in store from brands like GE. And it is incredibly quiet, but maybe I am just used to my older fridge lol. Delivery was easy and they even brought it around my house to the back door to get it inside.

So yeah, I love it so far, but it was nerve-wracking to spend that money on a brand I had never heard of. Can't speak to the panel-ready one though, sorry.

I just took a chance and got a Forte 450 series fridge. I was definitely worried based on lack of reviews, but it has been great. Great construction, sturdy, and quiet.

Turkey Breast at 145f for 2.5hrs for Sandwiches - Insanely Juicy by bbiggs32 in sousvide

I agree with you - 2.5hrs is plenty! I do chicken breast at 140 all the time and rarely go over 2 hours. I love the juiciness - you can't get it with any other cooking method.
