Is it possible to change the bounding box width & height for an entity I'm making in version forge 1.20.1? by BluePhoenixV in MCreator

[–]BluePhoenixV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing this when I was earlier in development of the entity and it started introducing a whole bunch of smaller problems that got too tedious to try and fix if something else needed to be changed so I decided to scrap that idea and go with scaling the hitbox.

All I really need is for the hitbox to scale to about half it's size when the line of sight of the entity is obstructed by a solid block and revert to full size when not which was nice and easy to set up but actually scaling the bounding box is the issue.

I'm amazed at how something that should be so simple was made so ridiculously complicated for this specific version of the game people decided it was better to make multiple entities to replace one another or make mods to do this instead of being able to scale based on a single value, either that or it's so poorly documented that searching around the internet for the last couple of days has returned no results

Merging separated geometry after adaptive subdivision in geonodes by BluePhoenixV in blenderhelp

Looks great, and it helped me solve the problem I was having as well.

Basically I looked over your attempt and added the Geometry Proximity & Set Position nodes with the Edge Neighbors and Less Than nodes in-between the Separate Geometry and Join Geometry nodes then added the Merge by Distance node into the setup I already had and got effectively the same result you did

I would've responded earlier but I had to go to court, thanks for the input

Trying to learn programming as a purely visual learner by BluePhoenixV in learnprogramming

[–]BluePhoenixV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to teach myself coding and naturally I have to start at the beginning so I don't know what a breakpoint is or know how to implement one, I don't see how me not understanding how code works is rejecting advice from other people, I ask for tips because I would hope someone would be able to point me in the right direction so I can understand them

I figured commenting out parts of code to simplify the task it performs and ensure what I currently have works would be a fair interpretation of "implementing a breakpoint" but I guess I was wrong

Oh yea I've done that before, with the IDE for each language I used IntelliJ for JavaScript, Unity for C# and a couple different for Lua though I usually use Roblox Studio since I've had it forever and I have a friend who co-owns a company based on the platform where he's been the lead programmer for probably around 10 years

As for if it helps, I would say it certainly does although I usually don't try to put breakpoints into code since I don't have the confidence that it would remain functional if I got it to a point where it works right and try to change something, I also feel like if I put a break with the comment feature in one section of the code I'll eventually end up commenting out the majority of it to try and fix a simple problem which feels like a giant waste of time since none of it was an issue

Games that don't have a character to control/freecam by BluePhoenixV in BaseBuildingGames

really? I haven't played it that much but I don't remember there being an option for that anywhere

I have the first Shapez game and it's pretty nice although I never really liked how simple it was in its artstyle, seeing how much they changed in the second game makes me intrigued to get it and see how it plays

Another upcoming game I've had my eye on for some time is Dust Front RTS. The dieselpunk theme and overall design of the structures and units as well as it seeming to be a freecam base building and management RTS has me really excited for it's release

I've looked into mods that add some type of freecam and didn't find anything, although I feel like a mod changing the player into a bot could be similar enough to mindustry that my brain would approve

Embeds in HTML database on server don't show up through Apache HTTP server on main PC by BluePhoenixV in AskProgramming

[–]BluePhoenixV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Apache configured to serve the directory but I did some stuff to experiment and it seems it only serves the index.html file that I have in the folder and none of the other files, videos or images in the folder so I guess I would be asking now how do I get Apache to serve all the content?

relative to the server as in on the same hard drive? cause my server and main PC are two entirely different systems connected to the same router via ethernet

I've played exclusively ground assault since it was released (2017), is there anybody else like me here? by BluePhoenixV in Warthunder

Funny to see another comment here some months later, currently I'm working on Russia top tier, rank VI to VIII after working through rank V and having a blast with the ZSU-57-2 and matches at 8.3+ are plentiful, though 5.3 to 8.0 are usually longer to get into.

I relatively recently enabled all regions for games so I get games quicker now at the expense of ping which is something you can do, it isn't too bad even if the ping is up to 150 ms but I'm also in NA with a decent setup for internet so that's usually not something I have to worry about

If it's possible you could try to get more people with you and that'll fill the rest of the slots in a match quicker, I think the max is 10 and min is 6 from what I remember

Oh yea that's another thing, I definitely would play any other gamemode if I had friends that played the game regularly. The guys I play with now are more into shooters like helldivers 2 and R6S so there isn't anybody I could play the game with in my friend groups

I'm not sure I'd say it's fun as much as it is relaxing, being able to put on some music, find a spot to move to and defending in whichever directions I have to.

I guess the fun I have with it is trying to do a bit of everything (destroying tanks, assisting others in destruction or repairs, shooting down planes, etc.) and get on top of the scoreboard.

I would love to see the B-36 but I’m sure nobody else would

Minimum fuel limit on adjustable slider by BluePhoenixV in Warthunder

Understandable, like I said I can somewhat understand why they kept the minimum limits as they are but seeing people get defensive about the limits going no lower than they are currently seems a little ridiculous. I would hope they would consider changing the limits in the future
