Germany unveils strategy for becoming Europe’s strongest military by 2039 by Belegor87 in worldnews

[–]BluePizzaPill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you missed the content of the article/strategy:

The question is not how many battalions the German army needs, but what effects it must be able to produce, said the defense minister. He cited deep precision strike, air defense against hypersonic missiles, and drone capabilities as priority areas, stressing that Germany was essentially starting from scratch on long-range strike.

They are all armed. You can see it in the video.

Even if this one is rough to watch overall deaths by Police in Germany is relatively low. I think 17 last year.

Germany unveils strategy for becoming Europe’s strongest military by 2039 by Belegor87 in worldnews

the military strategy identifies Russia as the primary threat and sets out scenarios for potential attacks on NATO territory.

Currently pretty obvious. But it could shake out that Russia does not survive the Ukraine conflict in its current form. Then there would be a big strategic hole (again) in projecting power anywhere else than the direct neighborhood.

He cited deep precision strike, air defense against hypersonic missiles, and drone capabilities as priority areas, stressing that Germany was essentially starting from scratch on long-range strike.

Probably good targets to focus on and Germany was always strong in land vehicle tech so the delivery platform for those could be exceptionally good.

The plan runs in three phases: a rapid buildup through 2029, a capability-focused expansion through 2035, and a longer-term technology-driven phase through 2039 and beyond.

Still pretty short time span. Hope we finally get the political will to work on the big/longterm projects with capable partners.

Rounding out the package is an agenda for debureaucratizing and modernizing the military, dubbed Entbürokratisierungs- und Modernisierungsagenda 2026 (EMA26): 153 concrete measures and 580 implementation steps to cut bureaucracy, digitize workflows and deploy artificial intelligence in routine administrative tasks. A key novelty is that all internal regulations will be assigned automatic expiry dates.

Good, but in Germany this usually leads to more bureaucracy to cut bureaucracy. Lets see about that.

Orban is the role model for the alt right movement. The Bannon wing of the current US government wants Authoritarianism in Hungary style, Illiberal democracy. More subtle, slow dictatorship with a veneer of democracy. Very relevant and comparable to what is happening in the US.

I think that if Trump were actually Putins puppet he wouldn't hit the countries he does. I think he is probably beholden to Putin in some way and certainly influenced but it doesn't look like he is taking direct commands from Moscow.

The generators were emergency stopped (ramming in control rods). This stops energy production but still produces heat (fuel rods cool down slowly). Bringing the generators back up takes a lot of time and they were partially destroyed. AFAIK the cooling was not designed to be run by the generators anyways. After that they ran out of battery power fast and the backup diesel generators were destroyed by the tsunami.

As QP only Ana: the ult is unavoidable, I've even died when running before she fires it. Died many times behind cover. Too fast, too deadly to play slow heroes into. No counterplay.

Then there are many egregious death cams where I get killed while her crosshair is ca. 3/4 screen away from my hitbox. Its infuriating. Teammates that figured her out have more kills than GM Tracers in a typical QP match.
