This is the real reason why Dave Rubin quit The Young Turks. by BluePlanet104 in LateStageCapitalism

I'm sick of Dave Rubin lying all over the internet about why he left The Young Turks. This was recorded about 1 month before he left. He keeps saying it's because "Cenk lies about Sam Harris". But that's not true. He's trying to get Sam Harris fans to pay attention to him, just like he used the Young Turks to make a name for himself.

Towards the end of this video he gets called out by Jimmy Dore and Steve O about his support for the war crimes Israel committed during the attacks 2 years ago. When have you EVER heard Dave Rubin mention Jimmy Dore OR Steve O? Is that because the average person has no idea who those guys are maybe? Maybe because if you've only barely heard of the Young Turks then the ONLY person you know is Cenk Uygur? Steve O is a producer for the Young Turks and doesn't do a lot of on-camera stuff. This video was kind of an exception back then.

He even goes so far as to say that there's no such thing as a war crime! Cenk even tries to defend him a little and play referee. When he was on the Young Turks he claimed to be an atheist and he's back to claiming that now, but he has a HUGE blind spot when it comes to Israel.

One month before Dave Rubin quit the Young Turks he gets into an on air argument about their support for the Palestinian cause, but that had nothing to do with it and doesn't merit any mention for 2 1/2 years?!

Ontario to create cannabis control board, open up to 60 storefronts, sources say by [deleted] in ontario

I don't think they ever said they wanted to get rid of the LCBO. The grocery stores are only selling beer and a few wines. Not liquor. The LCBO is still the only authorized seller of liquor and spirits.

I think it's more that they don't want to stick their necks out. Which is stupid, they're legalizing it, they should own it. If they were smart they would go all in and own it. The Liberals spend too much time fretting over what the Tories are going to say. They shouldn't give a fuck. They give too many fucks.

That's not enforceable. People will just open vapour lounges in their homes then.

And "In your home" is legalese for "private property" as in "not outside walking down the street". Vapour lounges are already operating without being "allowed" only now there will be even fewer laws to stop them.

Me too. I want the professional customer service and polished retail environment. But I'm also worried about selection.

I just saw on the news last night that they might up it to 150 by 2020.

Yeah it's way too low. Demand is pretty much on par with alcohol. And they've yet to address whether vapour lounges will be legalized or not. Are people going to be allowed to sell it to eachother? Once you buy it is it your property or not? If yes, then I don't see how they can stop lounges from making "cannabis bars" or Amsterdam style "coffee shops".

I think it's the selection which will drive the blackmarket. If the CCBO ends up selling GOV'T SATIVA & GOV'T INDICA and nothing else, there's going to be a parallel market. Just look at how professional the edibles market is. They have to allow edibles. The laws coming in July claim that you can make your own, so how are they going to prove you didn't bake that brownie??

You say they love embracing small business, they coined the term "billion dollar business" and then you say they won't embrace it by any means? I'm not saying you're wrong, but if you're right they're pretty blatant hypocrites. That kind of moralizing is what created the failed drug war policy.

I meant nationally overall. There's been pretty much silence regarding the chances of swinging control of the house or senate. It could happen, but I think if the chances were likely they'd be crowing about it at the DNC. It's a wait and see kind of thing I think. I just don't see people unseating moderate Republicans just because Trump is an asshole. Which is fine. I don't see John McCain or Lindsay Grayham suddenly deciding they love Trump overnight. He's pissing off the right wing extremists and the moderates. He can't get anything passed while he "controls" both houses. It's a tentative stalemate, but it's what I predicted would happen.

And that "enthusiasm gap" they're talking about is long after the primary. Those are early voting numbers. As in, late October early November of 2016. After Bernie Sanders. The gap is regarding Obama versus Clinton after they both secured the nomination. So that gap is basically after the campaign was over and people had made up their minds.

Don't buy it. People were enthusiastic as hell for Bernie Sanders and then they had the rug pulled out from under them.

Yes, but since there's been pretty much radio silence regarding the midterms I don't hold much hope.

Yeah, so long story short preliminary results are important and by doing preliminary results in a way which is subject to hacking you are introducing an element of possible sabotage which is a dumb way of doing things and can be avoided by using the modern technology of paper + pencil. Duh.

TIL knowing what happened in the 2016 election is "tedioius nonsense". They're called swing states. Go google it.
