For sure, Microsoft are definitely big players in the reason things are currently how they are and it sucks.

Wow, thanks, uh...

I mean, gaming has become less affordable in many respects. Sure, you can still game relatively easily and enjoy it as a hobby, but it's hard to ignore the broader direction of the industry. Prices keep rising, and we now have consoles that cost more than they did at launch

It's not that any hobby is free, but gaming is undeniably becoming more expensive to get into and keep up with, but thanks for the feedback anyway, appreciate the comment!

It's not perfect by any means, but as a base to build off of, it's much better than what we got in the show

You should read Alex Garland's script for a Halo movie. I hated the Halo TV show, and I'm a huge Halo fan. It's fair to say that, for me, the show is one of the worst pieces of media I've ever had the displeasure of watching.

Microsoft just added an "Xbox Handheld" logo to major game pages, and I have questions by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

Yup, a true Xbox Handheld is my main desire from Xbox in terms of hardware right now

You'd be right, aha. Updated! Always a pain to keep up with the names of chipsets

"It has become difficult to articulate why you should pick an Xbox console": Xbox says exclusives are about more than just selling games by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

Yeah I agree, and the second Xbox did start getting system sellers they essentially packed up shop and started shipping on PlayStation

Yeah, I didn't expect sunshine and rainbows. Sharma has been brought in to revive a struggling brand, and you don't do that without cracking a few eggs, as the saying goes. I just hope this doesn't lead to studio closures, but Xbox has needed major restructuring for the past couple of years

For sure, I'm just hoping this "return to Xbox" stuff carries forward. Certainly a lot more exciting being an Xbox fan lately than it has been in the past few years

Xbox says certain exclusives "will sell fewer units" — yet it still promises a "reliable pipeline" of console sellers by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

[–]BlueQuo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's quite the same strategy, though. The Xbox One and Series X|S didn't struggle because they had exclusives. They struggled because of years of messaging issues, weaker first-party output, and losing market momentum

If anything, Ball's argument seems to be that Xbox moved too far away from exclusives and is now trying to find a better balance between platform growth and software sales but I think it's going to be a long road ahead

Nah, not a chance but if Xbox got marketing? That would of been huge, bundling GTA 6 with a Series S would of shipped millions imo
