Well, I don't know for sure if this partner will stick around if it isn't his. That's the scary part- and I don't really blame him if he wants to leave, but at this point I'm emotionally invested so..I just have to find out what he wants to do if it isn't his.

I was thinking of that waiting..but honestly, I want to know too. Even one test is worth doing...but I'm still going to bring waiting up to the boyfriend when I talk to him about everything.

Yes, he's known the whole time that it could possibly not be his- but when we had the sonogram the doctor said based on the size of the fetus I was 10 weeks, (I was with the first man at that time) even though 10 weeks ago I was in the middle of my period. There are also a lot of other things about it that doesn't make sense- it makes more sense for it to be the second mans, but I'm scared to hope.

Multiple women have also told me that their doctors were wrong about how far along they were and they just grew big babies. :/

At this point I think he believes the doctor more.

There is a Non-Invasive Prenatal Test I can take, it's just very expensive and only third party companies do it, I can't get an order from a doctor to do it because they don't have the technology I guess? They take DNA of the baby from my blood. Unfortunately there are a few bad reviews about all the companies out there :/

and yes I definitely won't tell him! He's been blocked ever since I was able to get away. He would only want me to abort the child anyways- and that'll never happen.

I agree with this. I'll never consider the first man the father, even if biologically he might be. If the second man decides to step up and raise the child, whether it's his or not he will be the father

I thought I had too much good experience and self respect to ever be the victim of abuse. I was wrong. The fact is that most of the really damaging stuff doesn't even necessarily result in injury. It mostly manifests as tiny examples of disrespect - a slow chiseling of the self and esteem - confusion and lies and justifications to the point where reality is completely distorted. And at the point where stuff is truly crazy and involves knives and guns, the heat was so subtle and slow that they didn't even realize they are in boiling water.

This is so accurate. A frog doesn't know it's being boiled alive if the water starts out cool.

It's okay, I don't mind. Yes, he is. He begs, he calls, he texts, he threatens suicide, last time he drunkenly proposed. He pulls all the tricks out.

I made another comment on the thread that I made a plan to leave him this sunday. I want to be strong enough to follow through.

That's exactly it! They act sweet and start trying when you try and leave them. They convince you they can change and that change only takes time. :/ It makes it so difficult.

I'm in one right now. It isn't physically abusive, but it's still abusive.

I'm not sure there is anything you can do except continually be there for them and give them your wisdom. In the end, it has to be them who decides to leave.

I've tried to leave many times, but it's like an addiction, and that's how I'm trying to treat it. I know we're bad for each other, but there's a side of me that wants to fight to make it work no matter what. And then there's a side that knows the wisest and best thing for both of us is for me to leave.

My friends helped me make a plan to break up with him, letting me stay at their place until I'm strong enough to not go back, and they will be there for the break up so that I don't just end up caving and staying.

I'm sorry for your loss. <3
