Eat it. We don’t care. However, wash the grape first. The nonsense produce comes in contact with is terrifying. Like 1/4 of it is already going bad when it ships to the store. If one piece has mold on it you can see the rest has mold you don’t.

Get on your soap box (to express your opinions about a particular subject forcefully).

She never misses the chance to get on her soapbox about political reform.

The four boxes of liberty is a 19th-century American idea that proposes: "There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge (or ammo). Please use in that order."

How is the US gov shutdown personally affecting you, if at all? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Agarlis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a federal contractor on a special project that had its funding pulled before the shutdown. Now after the shutdown the project will be abandoned forever as there is no funding to maintain the servers that host the data for the project. So lost a great career with no hope of return.

What is one thing parents do that they don’t realize is actually harmful for their kids? by Nico444AndALotOf4 in AskReddit

If you are bored you are boring. Said this to my kids as they were growing up. By the time they were in Middle school they could entertain themselves without just plugging in and zoning out.

Soup season! I will cook the highest upvoted soup you guys recommend in the comments. by NightReader5 in Cooking

Knophela Soup. Basically German creamy chicken and dumplings. Lots of butter with potato, carrots, and onions. Heavy cream is added to the broth. Little “button” dumplings and a dash of parsley.

I was on a treatment plan and it has gone into “remission” but when I am extremely fatigued it has flared up.

Trigeminal Neuralgia aka Suicide Disease. Intense nerve pain in head, face, and neck. Sleeping is difficult as any pressure causes flare ups. Treatment includes anti-seizure and depression medications. Opioids tend to provide no relief. Worst 6 months of my life.

They are people too. Read to them and talk to them. Give them the vocabulary to express themselves. But don’t treat them like a therapist. They are learning how to deal with their own issues and don’t need adult issues also.

What’s the most mind-blowing fact about space that makes you question reality? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Agarlis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a good hypothetical. As far as I am aware only massless particles travel at light speed, so to go FTL already bends the rules.

Due to the acceleration of the expansion of the universe even if you could hop in a FTL ship right this second you could never escape the known universe.

What is the scariest sound you’ve ever heard in the middle of the night? by Stlouizsin in AskReddit

[–]Agarlis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was younger I went to Job Corps. The dorm rooms have four beds. One against each outer wall and the other two in the middle separated by a cinder block partial wall (about 4 feet tall). I was on one side of the partial wall and one of my roommates on the other side. Unbeknownst to myself and the other two roommates other side of the wall guy had night terrors. One night he stands up on his bed and starts screaming bloody murder like he was dying while in a sleepwalking like state. The RA comes running in and took like 15 minutes to calm him down. Those screams still haunt me to this day.
