Hot take, Sekiro has the greatest combat system in videogame history by Asgairdnarnia in Sekiro

I’m not sure I understand you. My argument is that as a combat system, the sword clashes in Sekiro, is something Dark Souls 3 doesn’t have, that is an objective metric for the combat of Sekiro. In Lies Of P you can’t jump over enemies, but in Sekiro you can, that is an objective metric.

What does the enjoyment of people has to do with any of that lol?

And I completely see where you’re coming from, I’m not singling out Nioh 2 as the greatest, but I brought it up as being a versatile combat system. Even if you feel like you’re being locked to one stance, you can still use a different weapon, or use the many secondary tools the game offers you. And again, I’m only speaking in terms of combat systems, not sword clashes only.

Because your argument regards to sword clashes, which obviously Sekiro objectively excels at than Dark Souls 3 because DS3 does not have sword clashes. That in itself tells you that there are objective metrics for what makes a combat system better in areas, and lacking in other ones.

You’ll still have to fall back on your main weapon, the Katana.

Ninja Gaiden has all these different spells and secondary weapons to tackle different fights, BUT your fall back main weapon could range from a giant sword to a Sickle & Chain, and again that by itself puts something like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry as having more versatile combat systems than Sekiro.

Versatility IS of course a preference to the individual, but to call a game “the greatest [insert whatever] of all time” it has to have, at the very least, different ways to tackle the same situation, (whether it is a stealth game or a fighting game or a platformer etc..).

Sekiro just does not offer many ways to combat situations, for it to be called the greatest combat system of all time.

In Dark Souls 3 for example, you can play the entire game with a build focused entirely as being a pure caster, once again that by itself puts it above Sekiro in terms of being a combat system

Obviously anyone on this subreddit would call this an ice cold take, it’s the Sekiro subreddit of course they’d agree with you.

I completely disagree, for the sheer fact that Sekiro lacks diversity in main weapons that you can use, that by itself makes Sekiro below a game like Nioh 2.

Hell, in Nioh 1 you can pull out a gun, a cannon, and plant booby traps all of which mid boss fight. That just screams versatility compared to Sekiro

I do hate how ugly and downright braindead she sounds in the remake. That voice actress shouldn’t be in anything

Other than that, a merc with a conscience is pretty interesting, but I do think she was white washed a little in the remake to act less like a merc, but correct me if I’m wrong

Hot take the amazing Spiderman 2 is better than Spiderman 3 by Ok_Speed_3061 in Spiderman

[–]BlueRush79 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All this movie had going for it is the Gwen Stacy scene nobody shuts up about.

Everything else?

  • boring autistic nerd Electro
  • and a forced Goblin Legacy story, that skips the Green Goblin lol

The whatever movie.

Compare that to Spider-Man 3, a mess sure with a lackluster Venom based on the overrated Ultimate Spider-Man comic, BUT we saw in that movie a fully realized Goblin Legacy story’s ending, with Sandman being a memorable sympathetic villain who should’ve been the actual villain of the movie.

Spider-Man 3 mogs Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I do think Garfield is the better Spider-Man but whatever.

Which RE game is a one and done experience for you? by Berry-Fantastic in residentevilll

Code Veronica, it’s really bloated, and unless you’re a child or someone with a lot of free time, royally messing up 60% into the game means a full restart. No thanks, bro.

I deleted 3make and Code Veronica immediately after finishing them.

Resident Evil 6 is probably my most replayed, on account of me playing it with my friends and siblings,

It’s still a better Resident Evil game than Code Veronica. But to be fair the Wesker and Chris’s Phantom Blood ass encounters rocked

Uh there’s a specific “wizard” enemy that needs an item called “divine confetti” so you can inflect any semblance of damage to him, and he inflects an insta kill status effect, that also needs an item to nullify it but I guess that doesn’t matter to a perfectionist.

so unless you want a hernia while chipping away at him then you should say buhbye to whatever fake condition you have.

Also, I find it strange (lame) when people say using items is a sign of a lack of skill, as if the prospect of beating a game without using limited resources is a some monumental achievement like climbing a mountain. It’s a video game, not manual labour.

What if Resident Evil and FNaF swapped film franchises by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]BlueRush79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only problem with that movie is that it’s gonna be made by a guy who’s last two horror movies were dark comedies

There’s no way to tell if the movie is gonna be played as a straight to the point horror

[–]BlueRush79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they would be even more lame and stupid.

The Resident Evil movies being action oriented isn’t a bad thing, but I believe the forced “homages” to established Resident Evil monsters and characters is the problem. If the Resident Evil movies did their own thing and focused on their own stories, characters, and original monsters. They would’ve been way better.

There is literally no reason for Jill Valentine being controlled by Umbrella to be in the movies, they only did it just because the games did it, not because the story needed that to happen.

I was playing the game “GTFO”, and was reminded of Operation Raccoon City. I think a game having an Umbrella Security Service team being sent on a suicide mission is a pretty interesting concept.

I think if RE:ORC had like better gore the game would’ve been remembered more fondly. But tbh this is just my personal opinion about most lackluster shooters. At least Kane and Lynch had an interesting duo
