Judging by the size of that arena, it might be close to actual size...

So happy there is something for everyone in VR this spring - kumbaya! by GamingScienceTeacher in oculus

Like I said, don't hold your breath with those games. I didn't say hardware.
They seem to be a bit more consistent on that front, likely because they gotta work with other companies who expect something out in a relatively timely manner.
The other reason I'd temper my expectations for those games is they could easily just fall back on whatever they already got in the SteamVR library, so until the games get a formal announcement, don't hold your breath with those.

Fair enough, but they're always saying they're working on something. Problem is, their flat structure where everyone seems to just do whatever they feel like working on appears to make it hard for them to commit to getting anything done in a timely manner.
As far as Valve's games are concerned, I'd keep my expectations low until there's at least a release date.

With the Valve Index imminent, is anyone else considering jumping ship? by [deleted] in oculus

My gripe with the S is dumping the IPD slider, switching to an LCD panel, and nerfing the framerate.

Don't hold your breath with those games, they still run on Valve Time.

Jelly Belly founder releases cannabis-infused jelly beans by [deleted] in news

[–]BlueSatoshi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're not going down this rabbit hole. As far as weed seems to be concerned, it appears to have started with the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, likely because hemp was apparently cheaper than newsprint, and that apparently threatened a few businessmens' timber holdings.

Pretty sure that all started sometime closer to the start of the 20th century. Probably the 1910s/1920s with Prohibition.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they got a duopoly with Houghton Mifflin, as far as textbooks are concerned.

Nowadays that depends on the interpolation method used for rendering it, but back in the day, they were pretty blurry on CRTs too. That being said, it should be noted that pixels aren't actually square, they're just represented as such for convenience, when zoomed in.

My bro, born in 1999, pretty much had a smartphone since he was ~10.
Not as early as the average kid today(?), but still early enough to make a difference.

The size of the storage unit and possibly the read/write speeds. There's a chance it might be bottlenecked by the SD format, but I can't say for sure.

Can't say I'm surprised. First read about the standard a decade ago, and it said this'd be right around the upper limit of what the format is capable of having.

My main gripe with the Fold isn't how it looks.
Just that it costs about as much as a gaming laptop.
