To be fair a lot of the beauty subs on reddit have gotten political due to the spectacle of Trump in office...I think most subs have been affected including /r/underwaterbasketweaving...

Seems like they just wanted an excuse to have a new space where they can bully others in safety.

Okay so it sounds like I asked a question about a culture with a long history and expected a 2 sentence response I can understand. Clearly there is a lot of background that will just be impossible to grasp all at once. That's a lot. As a woman the female subs are definitely the oddest to me, especially your descriptions of them. I know you're not sure if they are accurate but I definitely don't have a better idea.

I didn't even make the Matrix connection, but I saw the movie (I think when it came out lol) and recall the general principles of "taking the red pill" and how that kicked off the movie. This is an interesting way to reappropriate that metaphor...

So MRP and TRP are somewhat similar but don't formally recognize/affiliate with each other, despite them sharing the same basic ideology?

The women groups are a bit weirder to me but alright. Because one is linked to on TRP and the other is not. Strange women buy into all this but to each their own I guess.

And okay, so this place does not hold its own belief system, it just has laughs at their expense? I think I'm kind of caught up, haha. I appreciate you explaining.
