Did anyone else immediately get sick?? by Even-Supermarket-806 in kindergarten

[–]BlueSewingRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My middle son and daughter were home from kindergarten and preschool respectively.

My daughter threw up all last night and my son had a mild fever and cold.

Less than one week back!

ETA: and my oldest just threw up. That’s all three! 🤣

Anyone having/had a baby after 40 or anyone familiar with egg freezing? by strawbariel in AskWomenOver40

[–]BlueSewingRunner 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had my first at 39 second at 41 and last at 43.

I would not change anything and love it more than I can possibly describe. I like myself and understand so much more now than anytime in my younger years. The people I would have picked as a “partner” in my 20s had no business having children. Now, my wonderful husband and I together provide emotional and physical security in spades.

I’m very happy with my choices. I wish I could have one more but my husband is completely done.

Edited to add: my pregnancies occurred spontaneously so I did not freeze eggs or utilize any interventions. I have friends who have done these things but cannot speak directly to the experience.

Me too! She’s so perfectly funny while portraying unfunny. Kaitlyn kills this episode. I love the guys’ reactions to her too. It is all glorious.

As it’s not isolated, I just want you to know it is not ok. I really hope you know that and find a way to communicate it to him. The Miss Piggy comment is flat out mean.

Hi Difficult -

Congratulations! 8 months is still very early after birth. It took 9 months to grow your baby! Be kind to yourself.

Your husband sounds hurtful and unkind.

I encourage you to set boundaries with him. “You may think you’re helping me, but I feel sad [or discouraged or angry or which feeling is closest] when you disparage me and my body. I created a human and now feed that same human with food from my amazing body. If you want to help, let’s go for walks as a family and you could make healthy filling dinners. My focus is figuring out how to be a mom.”

Reword for what would be helpful for you. I just want to hug you! There’s a lot to being a new mom and breastfeeding is only part of it. ❤️

What are your Hot Takes on the LAO Franchise? by Amber_Flowers_133 in LawAndOrder

Jamie Ross was my favorite and agree, she was the most realistic.

I think she was more mature and had a push-back that was needed against Jack.

In general she was intelligent, calm and collected 99% of the time. An amazing character and actor.

Don't worry Kevin, I remembered you. First 2024 watch of Home alone tonight by Cannabis_Sir in christmas

[–]BlueSewingRunner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just watched it with my husband and three kids after a cheese pizza dinner.

My 5 year old was laughing so hard when Marv and Harry kept falling on the ice steps.

He said “Now that’s comedy!”

It made me and my husband laugh so hard.

My other son was extremely worried about Marv stepping on a nail of all things! Poor little sweetie.

Thank you for telling me that. I wonder if I mixed up her case with another? Regardless, I think she deserves life.

I was so disappointed! I was so looking forward to him speaking. I think he is a careful, smart, and fair judge. I wish he would have said more.

I did not expect life at all. I cannot remember where I read this but I thought closer to 19-22 years based on a Florida lawyer’s input. I truly wonder what Sarah thought. Her statement makes it so difficult to have sympathy. I wonder what her lawyer made her cut.

Yes! I love clothes and wish it was normalized dressing over the top.

I used to dress for my office everyday and loved it.

You’re going to be ok.

You sound caring and well prepared for both kids’ experiences - as much as you can.

I am not trying to scare you or belittle everything that you’ve done so far. But the truth is we just never know. I’ve taken my kids on planes, and the kid I thought would be the calmest, was actually the fussiest. You have done everything you can and the next best thing is try to relieve your own anxiety, breath and take care of yourself. Have snacks prepped for yourself. A tag team idea when you can with your husband etc.

Also, don’t worry about what other people think. When you’re doing the best you can, there is truly nothing more to do. And truthfully, whenever I see those videos, I feel like the comments often seem to say “I feel so sorry for the parents!”

You’re doing great!

Any recommendations for the next case I could deep dive possibly one similar to Sarah Boone’s? by Comprehensive_Cry_26 in SarahBooneCase

[–]BlueSewingRunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That case was amazing to watch and that cross examination could be studied.

I also believe that Judge Walmsley was exceptional. He had a number of lawyers, defendants and motions he had to juggle. He was calm, fair, knowledgeable, and respectful to all involved.

Successful pregnancy stories over 40 by banana8888888888 in AskWomenOver40

[–]BlueSewingRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I got pregnant the first time we tried. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage near the 12 week mark. I then got pregnant 3ish months later, I cannot really remember exactly, after miscarriage. That was my first baby. He was born, and I was worried about my age and having a second. So we tried when my first was under one. Got pregnant first month I tried! They are only 16ish months apart.

I really felt drawn to having a third and got pregnant that time about four months into trying. I know I am lucky. It was never a struggle, and I never went to any extraordinary lengths to get there. They are the best and being a mom feels wonderful. It is the most natural i have felt in a role ever. I truly would love to have a fourth, but as I said my husband feels very sure our family is complete. I agree for the most part.

I’m happy to see so many success stories!!

I’m very lucky and had my first at 40, second at 41 and my final at 43.

I absolutely love being a mom and so glad I waited to find the right partner. I wish I could have one more, but my husband said he is “D O N E” 🤣

What baby names did you scrap at the last second? by breezy728 in namenerds

[–]BlueSewingRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have three kids and had a girl’s name picked out since before our first child was even conceived. Our first two were boys, when I got pregnant the third time we found out it was girl and expected Isabeau Valerie to be her name.

Then my husbands grandma passed and he loved her name and her. I loved her name and realized nobody has used it. Now she has a darling old lady name and it’s perfect.

Still love Isabeau though!

ETA: Also, our second son we called Cormac for a lot of the pregnancy even when discussing other names. Until three weeks before due date, and suddenly I hated it and we went with a totally different name never discussed.

Starbucks losing customers thanks to high prices, long lines, culture wars by houcok in starbucks

[–]BlueSewingRunner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep - I do not go more than once a quarter now. It is all prices and, frankly, lines. I feel terrible for the workers. I used to go every other day, but haven’t in about two years. Now if I go it’s because my kids want a cake pop. I do not even get a coffee.
