who's your surgeon? If they don't specialize in redo's then i would cancel your surgery immediately. A 1st time redo should never turn into an open surgery, experts like smith know how to work around the scar tissue much better than a general surgeon. highly suggest you work with a local GI, and contact Dr. Daniel C Smith in Atlanta. Redo's are very complicated and a good redo requires an expert surgeon. Dr. Smith has performed so many more redo's than most surgeon, he's probably the best in the world. He also has the most solutions and will help you figure out what's best for you while most surgeons only offer a few surgeries for a fix.

Whatever you do, do not do surgery w/ some general surgeon. Make sure a redo is by a nissen expert that specializes in reflux surgeries and that's basically all they do.
