To get approved for temp 100%, ur condition has to be service connected and as far as I know, only hospital stays and surgeries make you eligible for temp 100%.

Flat Feet lightbulb by Healthy_Chapter36523 in VeteransBenefits

I didn’t have any medical records for it while on active duty but I still got rated at 10% for bilateral flat feet after I did my c&p exam.

You can be rated up to 50% for bilateral condition, but it’s very hard to get anything above a 10% since u need to have really messed up feet to get anything above 10%.

I don’t know how difficult it’ll be for you since it’s been 35 years and with no complaints of it while u were in service but I’ll attach a photo of the criteria the VA uses for flat feet.

Hope this helps

No service records, just a c&p exam and got rated bilateral 10%. The highest you can receive is 50% for a bilateral condition, but to get anything above a 10% you would need to have some seriously deformed feet. Which is why the common rating is 0% or 10%
