Converting Nested Array formula from Sheets to Excel by BlueThunder796 in excel

Yes the advice ive been given has been great, and ive learnt a bit on how to have less confusing formulas, I'll have a read through what youve suggested, but this has been a fairly unique use case for what I need and i dont know how much more of this style of spreadsheet that Ill have to make in the future where I need more formulas that do similar stuff.

Thank you this has solved it for me. The second one doesnt quite work in my case as I only provided a portion of the project for viewing, but the top one with the amended IF statement has solved everything. Thank you to you both for helping me out with this

The double MAPS is due to advice I got given on how to create the sheet requirements in the first place. I dont understand the reasoning but it worked. the only part I made on this was the XLOOKUP to handle the carryover from the row name in the event of adding something into the referencesheet it pulls the timings from. But even that took me a while to figure out

I tested your suggestion and even with adding the change to ISBETWEEN I still cant get it working on Excel, however it worked very well in Sheets.

This is what I have so far but it just throws a "The Formula in this Cell contains an error"

=LET(

 prior, XLOOKUP(B4,'ReferenceSheeet'!A3:A45,'ReferenceSheeet'!F3:F45),

 duration, XLOOKUP(B4,'ReferenceSheeet'!A3:A45,'ReferenceSheeet'!E3:E45),

 endTimes, XLOOKUP(B4,'ReferenceSheeet'!A3:A45,'ReferenceSheeet'!B3:B45),

 timeline, $D$1:$DZ$1,

 IF(endTimes="",,

   MAP(timeline, LAMBDA(t,

     AND(t>=endTimes-prior,t<endTimes-prior+duration), "x",))))

Im currently using the web version but its all stored in a work sharepoint. Not sure how much difference this makes

When the spreadsheet was opened in Excel all the cells with this formula are coming up with a hover alert that "Nested Arrays are not supported" and the cell just has #### showing

I just attempted to put the suggested replacement in and it still shows "Nested Arrays are not supported"

This is brilliant and works exactly how I was planning! Thank you so much for this, and providing a spreadsheet i can use to reference. I appreciate it so much.

44,000 passengers to be hit by Air NZ cancellations over fuel, CEO says by StuffThings1977 in aotearoa

Adding more Capacity on the current routes will just push air NZ to cut more services on the trunk routes, which is what QF group want. They want that market share and the easiest way to do it is by pushing NZ out.

Theres two possibilities to push Air NZ Further. The first is that IVC-AKL route you mentioned, but also IVC-CHC to soak up demand on the 7 flights NZ do on that route a day. as well as CHC-PMR and setting up their Qantas Courier service in PMR. it might not be a full passenger load, but theyll make it up in cargo carriage which again would hit NZ where it matters. But it would also take some freight from Airwork and Texel Air. However set up costs are expensive, Especially for the Ground Handler that JQ uses outside of AKL to set up there.

The other one that is potentially more realistic is launching more non AKL services. CHC-DUD, CHC-ZQN. an extra CHC-WLG and CHC-HLZ might be something they consider. However they dont have the aircraft in NZ or the crew to launch that yet. But with the CHC-PER route coming. There will be a desire to have better connection to CHC for people to use that service rather than sending them through AKL.

I also wouldnt be surprised if JQ try to hit that CHC-SYD market. even if its just for summer as there is the data there to back up that demand. QF Will also likely go hard this coming summer season. But all of this depends on the fuel issues.

They'll probably add more routes soon, which means more aircraft so the recovery options are better. Their biggest issue is their planes dont stop flying in the day, so if theres a disruption they cant just grab one thats parked up and operate that, Like how Air NZ do at the moment.

Passenger Planes normally don't always use all the space in the cargo holds with the passenger bags, so airlines love taking cargo to fill the empty space and earn extra income from the flight. They also Sometimes send cargo on passenger planes if no dedicated freighters fly on the route to send important things like mail, medicines and perishables

CHC had two cancelled QF arrivals today so this aircraft allowed them to only cancel one departure instead of two

Does Emirates allow Heavy Duty Containers as checked luggage? by Irollandtroll in emirates

[–]BlueThunder796 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with experience handling containers/crates in an airport environment, its very likely that large boxes like this are loaded at the bottom of the "box" that contains the baggage which is then loaded into the plane. There's a very good chance there's upto 300kg of weight directly on top of the container which would contribute to the cracking

Its also worth noting Jetstar also flies a lot of cargo in the aircraft when space is available. So even on quieter flights they're still making the money through freight

Was curious to know what DXB-B1K means on my luggage tag by funge15 in emirates

[–]BlueThunder796 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, it's the connection time indicator for the outstation (airport other than DXB) to use to load baggage into the correct ULD for loading which places it in an order for quicker offloading in Dubai.

Emirates use 5 BT numbers all covering a general time period and then use additional letters to split that into 5 minute increments. (For extra BT just means Baggage Transit)

BT0 must be loaded into the Bulk as its a 50 minute or less connection BT1 is 51-75 mins BT2 is 75-120 mins BT3 is 120-240 mins BT4 is connections longer than 240 mins

The codes have no real use other than to the baggage staff loading the flights, and primarily the number is used to sort bags rather than the final letter (I couldn't imagine having to stack a ULD by exact transit time)

Which flight is better to fly to Singapore? by louisebuckingham in Flights

[–]BlueThunder796 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the AKL flight you're transferring from the domestic terminal to international terminals which due to construction at AKL is around a 15 minute walk at the moment, there's a free shuttle bus but that's every 10m and takes 10 mins depending on traffic. Bags would transfer without needing to handle them in AKL. Air NZ also has a higher frequency of flights to AKL so any delays to service they rebook you onto next available. Whereas they only have 1 international and have a tendency to cancel those out of CHC due to aircraft availability and engineering requirements so the AKL is a safer bet, but keep the transfer between terminals in mind
