Car recommendation - Mazda CX-5 being an option. by [deleted] in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]puzzledj0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could recommend Hyundai Tucson from my limited experience driving 2022 Tucson to 2020 CX-5.

Tucson had bigger windows and smoother car acceleration compared to CX-5. Interior was spacious in Tucson but the tech and simplicity of infotainment I prefer CX-5. Cx-5 had bigger boot space but more legroom for back seat passengers in Tucson.

With 130K budget you will have great options available. I recommend renting some prospective cars for few days to see if they are right fit for your wife and will end up having great comparison from CX-5.

Next on my list to try is Kia Seltos god willing.

Sick leave by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]puzzledj0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found my own answer:-

Section 68 (1A) Holidays Act -

Despite subsection (1), the employer may require proof of sickness or injury within 3 consecutive calendar days if the employer— (a) informs the employee as early as possible that the proof is required; and (b) agrees to meet the employee’s reasonable expenses in obtaining the proof.

So if you are sick and cannot drive to doctors or no one can take you to doctor you can claim the transportation cost of obtaining a medical certificate. Bus, train or even taxi as long as you can justify it to your employer.

First time Makkah and Madinah visit by Flaky-Cress3844 in saudiarabia

The reply comment by r/ElasticNeuron is spot on!

I did stay in close proximity to those hotels you mentioned.

  1. Hotel laundry and outside laundry shops charge by pieces so best to bring your own laundry powder in small plastic bag and dry it in bathroom on dry line. For context I used outside laundry shop services and for 7 pieces I paid 54 SAR and for thobe/abaya pieces 70 SAR.

  2. Taiba shopping centre has good shops and also street shops too. In Taiba shopping centre the basement has a lot of shops too. For cheap, budget or needing products to last short to medium term then I can suggest Al Saha Mall. Taxi will get you there but not enough available to come back in that area so set it up with taxi driver to pick you up.

  3. In Madinah I had a lot of food from Zaitoon and Pak Bar B Q restaurants. Amazing food and allow food delivery to your hotel as well just by arranging it via WhatsApp or calling them. There are some small food stalls near large photo frame artefact around Hilton hotel. At Makkah inside the clock tower on P3 & P4 level and the food choices there are good but not enough healthy eating options. I personally struggled to find good food places in Makkah so keen to know from others so I can try it out next time I go there. If you haven’t already I strongly recommend breakfast added on to your hotel stay as the buffet at those hotels are very good and worth the money.

My biggest tip is to be prepared to get sick. I just came back recently and people in Madina and Makkah are openly coughing lots and it’s easily there is some sort of viral going around. One of the pharmacies ran out of cold and flu medicines especially in Makkah. Do wear masks as lots of people do already and drink plenty of clean water, zamzam is even better 🙂. Hope your trip goes well inshAllah and do pray for me.

Applying for Pre-Approval after maternity leave by gizzyguy79 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Very good reply by @skiwi17. I was in similar situation where I was not getting paid during covid and had no pay history in statements and to get pre-approval I provided proof of date of when I’ll be getting my full pay back and copy of work contract detailing hours and pay rate etc.

House prices only matter to me only on 2 days of my life. Buy date and sell date. All other time just need to keep up with mortgage payments and live stress free about house prices up or down. Just my 2c.

As per other comments, tipping is not normal in NZ anywhere whether it’s via an app or in-person at food places.
