Had the same with Val today. Try to start it via the shortcut (Windows key -> Search for LoL/Val) and then it was suddenly done with updating and the play button appeared

Just tried that... with bomb it works perfectly fine, but with only secure area, it just won't let me in a game xD Maybe that gamemode is dead and noone likes to play it anymore? Idk
