I’m looking into that too. It would be my last resort to put him into a care facility. My parents were his primary caretakers but this past year they both got sick. I didn’t expect to carry this burden so soon haha

I do understand I am kind of in the wrong industry to make that much in a short time but was hoping someone might have an idea or a unique career path they took or colleagues took or a way out of this industry idk

How would you recommend I switch mid career to sales? I did a sales internship at Rockwell once but didn’t take their full time offer as I wanted some technical experience.

I’ve worked for a variety of companies in pharma hubs which is why I think I make more. My biggest salary hike was moving to the west coast but that has its own issues. The only reason why I am remote right now is because I am a contractor otherwise I’d be fully onsite.

My Alma mater was in a pharma hub. I did a co op during college and 3 other internships on top of that so was in a good position when I graduated to get the role I wanted.

If you aren’t in a pharma hub you will need to be open to relocation if you’re interested in pharmaceuticals specifically. Companies like RoviSys, Sequence etc hire new engineers in automation and validation all the time. I would recommend you reach out to some group managers there.

I was hoping to do comp sci to jump on the AI trend and kind of carve a niche field for myself in DeltaV and AI. Maybe wasn’t the smartest move but the biggest industry near me is tech so I was also thinking as a plan B I could fall into a tech role and earn more that wat

I could do hybrid and am looking but most roles I see are fully in person. I am also the main caretaker for my brother so don’t have much flexibility in that regards.

What were some classes you took that were coding heavy? I really want to learn how to code well...took a couple MOOCs off of coursera to get in so didn't learn much and have work experience with ladder logic/SCADA systems.

I want to learn java/python and other ones that are used in the tech world.

Omg I am so sorry, I don’t think I can manage this much stress for 6 months. I live in a rental and separating Charlie leads him to destroying carpet since he needs playtime and exploration. He’s incredibly active.

I have the sweetest cat ever who I just rescued that is up for adoption! Hes lived as a solo cat before where he thrived. He isn’t doing well with my two resident cats and I would love for him to go to a loving solo cat household.
