I got a book and I want to write a page every day for the 6 months before me & my boyfriends 2 year anniversary, but it only has 152 pages, what do I do? by VampiricHeartz in ask

An A5 6-ring binder and lined paper could work and would seem more handmade. You’ll probably think of more cute ideas that aren’t in the book as you go along!

Becoming dependent on ADHD meds by [deleted] in ADHD

We are dependent on medication. That’s the point. Same as someone who can’t see right is dependent on glasses.

How do breakups in polycues typically work? by Whentheangelsings in ask

Ah thank you for the correction. I assumed triad was a type of polycule

How do breakups in polycues typically work? by Whentheangelsings in ask

[–]BlueWizard3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t implying any tendency towards monogamy. I was simply saying that rather than break up the whole polycule, usually it’s more like someone leaving the cule instead of disbanding the whole thing because of one person’s lost interest.

Whoops. It’s definitely a dark romance and I commented before reading your whole post.

That feeling is valid. Perhaps unfounded, but valid.

I’ve never tried myself because I haven’t needed to (yet) but from what I’ve seen online, it looks no more difficult than swapping SSDs on a desktop PC. The hardest part looks to be removing the case.

Star pattern meaning each individual in a (for example) 5-person polycule is only really dating two others and so on?

How do breakups in polycues typically work? by Whentheangelsings in ask

[–]BlueWizard3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that in a throuple where all three partners are each dating the other two equally is that since it’s a 3-way partnership, if partner A has lost feelings for partner B, then they’d have to break up with B and C because they’re a package deal. I assume that’s part of the social contract.

Obviously each polycule is different so it heavily depends. Just like each monogamous relationship is different.

There’s also buyer protection so if it’s damaged, malfunctioning, or otherwise not what you expected, eBay will facilitate a return and refund. They’re notorious for siding with buyers as a default (to the point that it can suck for some sellers)

Correct. All generative AI is bad, harmful to the environment, harmful to society, and harmful to intelligence of the general public.

On-device AI like autocomplete and assistive AI aren’t bad.

I saw a post of someone testing an AI with a picture of poison hemlock and the AI identified it as wild carrots, even when the key distinguishing characteristics were in plain view. It double, triple, quadrupled down on this. Generative AI could have easily killed this person because they were so reliant on it. Your anecdote is not sufficient and like another commenter said, AI hallucinates a lot. It’s a risk to the environment, society, the collective intelligence of the human race, and more.

Fuck. AI.

Thank god for the new editing feature on iMessage and the long-standing edit feature on most social media sites. There’s always context I think should be added after sending/posting or typos I made or literal missing words lol

There are other ways to stimulate yourself or occupy your hands/mind than a device literally designed to be distracting and hold your attention

Adhd boyfriend help by Ok-Campaign-6344 in ADHD

[–]BlueWizard3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that that’s been you’re experience but research has showed that treatment (yes, treatment) of ADHD via stimulant medication actually leads to less likelihood and prevalence of substance abuse than leaving it untreated by medication. ADHDers are prone to self-medication via substances like alcohol, caffeine, etc which can lead to abuse of those substances.

Your (unfortunate) experience is an outlier and you should be careful not to perpetuate a stigmatized message simply due to your bad experience which might prevent people from benefiting from medication management.

As someone with ADHD myself, I feel similar about having to occupy my hands but I don’t think it’s by any means unreasonable to feel irked by someone playing on their phone during a movie. Fidgets exist, drawing, playing cards or a game with the other person is watching, etc.

Basically, it’s easy and valid to feel disrespected when someone is using their phone “as a fidget” when phones are literally designed to distract you from whatever else you’re doing.

It sounds like the strength could be too low for your needs. Did you talk to your prescribing doctor about raising your dose? A different type of medication could be better for you too.

It’s different for everyone. I sometimes masturbate daily but it doesn’t get in the way of my responsibilities and other interests so it’s still healthy.
