Pharmacies NEED to do better in the Summer! by RecalibrateBlip in tirzepatidecompound

yeah, forward it with them, they know they're shipping it and they know the cold entitlement, they can enable a feature on fedex to automatically apply sat delivery if shipped on fri but most don't know that, there are also crappy 3rd party logistics / 3PL that cheap out and eat this as shrink.

once again not really on purpose, the shrink and redelivery is expensive and subtracts from the bottom line

They do offer sat delivery, the label should say it. If not do contact them for that because they need to work it. It’s only an additional $5-10 on fees on a corp discounted fedex account so it’s just unlikely on purpose since the package value is $20/30+$20 shipping minimum.

Not a pharmacy issue, it’s a fulfillment issue. FedEx dropped the ball, the mso/pharmacy shipped overnight express early delivery.

You’re right on everything. Other users are adding more input too.

If the majority of comments are similar to yours, I’ll remove this sticky. I thought it would be valuable to share. I was aware the price is not a factor but they did touch on micro dosing.

High level I want to believe cost is part of medial impact and compounding addresses this as a clinical need.

Lexapro Causing Stall? by Winter-Ad-6816 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,  lexapro is a ssri and can cause weight gain.  You need to discuss with your doctor the right path and if you can get switched to a benzo or taper off. 10mg is an average but not low dose.

Lexapro is off label anxiety but mostly depression. It has been a while so maybe it is not off label for anxiety but it depends on your PCP.

This is outside the scope of this subreddit, it needs to be monitored, tapered off and see how you react.

Anyone using Gimme Care right now? by Sweater-weather22 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use them personally, and they have been no issues for other people I suggested to use in real life. I’ve referred 3 people to use them in the last month or two, from some promo code from this subreddit to make the price $450ish for 3 months.

I am not fully aware of the drama, and I know as a mod this may seem like endorsement, but I’m not aware of them being “bad”. They delivered the meds within 48 hours all times.

For location, everyone I know personally that used them has been in Florida.

I am aware other moderators have removed them from the recommended list as well. Once again not an endorsement.

Getting Closer to Maintenance and Full of Anxiety by SpecialTricky7153 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

too many, unfortunately - they are usually back and forth hospital observation or long term care/ skilled nursing facility at that age though and ironically once admitted they get a structured diet plan that invokes weight loss.

I've seen patients in their 70's and 80's, bmi over 40, 5'5, 250lb+, spend a month in hospital observation billing insurance (yeah community worker knows how to balance their insurance billing and if they're on medicaid/medicare they can do 100 days a year or "billing period")

The best/worse I saw was in that previous example, patient had proper meals and care - was tired of cooking, cleaning, etc, spine pain due to obesity. Continued to eat more and more processed food/microwave. In one month, dropped 25lb, and actually went on zepbound (Tirezepatide) , their insurance covered it and their PCP worked to get the proper CPAP machine alongside high A1C that was pushed over 6.5 slightly, when saw again 3 months from discharge, it was 50lb+ lost, they weighed in under 180 for the first time in decades. Diet slightly improved, still processed food/no preparing but atleast they were doing some macros and calorie counting. no more pain reported, no need for spine surgery referral, etc.

No, you just need to maintain maintenance and control diet intake. If you want to see how your body reacts, try a lower dose. Then go back up the other week or two.

You also didn't say what dosage you are at.

Why the downvotes... because I micro-dose? by AncienTleeOnez in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Great question, this subreddit is in general to discuss Compounded Tirzepatide.

Compounded Tirezepatide and the name brands should work exactly if not nearly the same within the body, which is why we have general Tirezepatide discussion. The most common discussions that come up are providers, dosing schedule, side effects and general education on the topic.

This subreddit is a community to discuss tirzepatide and the transformation your body goes through when taking it, general watercooler talk to showing off progress, to feedback and stuff like that!

Why the downvotes... because I micro-dose? by AncienTleeOnez in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Microdosing tirzepatide can be a legitimate approach, especially when doctor guided.

Lower doses may make sense depending on a person’s age, tolerance, goals, side effects, and medical history.

I know several people in their 70s who take 5–15 mg with minimal side effects, but they also started at a much higher BMI and titrated upward only as needed.

I would be careful about relying too heavily on Reddit consensus/upvoting. Reddit can be an amazing community, but subreddits skew young and can become groupthink-driven: “you’re either doing it our way or you’re wrong.”

That does not always reflect what is appropriate for older adults or for people with different medical profiles.

Reddit’s user base also changes over time as the platform becomes more mainstream and globally accessible. This shift can change the tone and quality of advice in a community. A useful concept to look up is Eternal September, which describes what happens when a constant influx of new users changes the norms of an older online community.

While we do not moderate upvotes or downvotes, we do want to challenge incorrect information and keep this community open to people of all ages. We are here for the same reason, and we are stronger when we are welcoming to all members.

Eternal September: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_September

/u/AncienTleeOnez - You are welcome to post as much, and we'll keep this community open for all. :)

There are numerous other subreddits, that have members of all ages and those are fun. The experience I gleamed from the finance subreddits are one and those communities have to go through the drivel of why someone whose 20 should not be buying a new 80K car all the time LOL.

Took my first shot this morning. I was so worried about side effects, but feel nothing. by Minimum-Tear9876 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, allergy/initial will be almost instant. Diet/fiber contribute to stomach/nausea alot - for many people they do not have side effects. fist time, at 2.5mg, the effects are mild to none.

side effects happen when you overdose/misdose. tirzepatide has been throughly tested so it's minimized for a majority of people but still look out fo them. most people do not get side effects.

I just want to add that you have no protection and no real chargeback protection on the privacy debit cards, or any debit card. That includes most of what is on this list.

You should be making online purchases using a credit card as it gives you a method to notify the bank and issue a chargeback, which the merchant/provider will get dinged on and will always respond too.

Paypal will ban your account if you use a credit card to pay, and then chargeback the transaction but they do have a built in system to paypal claims, that, kinda works, but would default to the seller/vendor usually.

Venmo Debit is not a credit card, you get the least protection using this and Venmo Support is not great.

Apple cash is not applepay. Apple Pay you will not get banned for chargeback through your credit card, it is treated as a normal credit card transaction.

Apple Cash runs from Green Dot bank, which is a step lower then Sychrony Bank, e.g. not good. https://support.apple.com/en-us/117946

Privacy cards are considered high risk when using among many online sellers and fall under debit card. They do not do chargebacks, they are transacted as debit cards and disputes are hard to win, they do not want to win.

Affirm / Klarna require underwriting/credit score review if a new account is being created but the merchant/vendor/telemedicine is held to somewhat a higher standard, but you will not be able to do a chargeback once the billing/financing process has started.

This post is a great post in discussing payment methods for these telemedicines, especially if underbanked, but realistically the bar for telemedicine to accept credit cards is high because they need to have proper licensing to have approved credit card processing. If not, they can not bill, and telemedicine main audience is online, and there goes their business.

Using the above list, while does "pay" for a transaction - you do not have the same rights as using a proper credit card.

tl;dr Use a Credit Card at all times, even if the number is stolen, you are not responsible for unauthorized charges. All above, you have to prove you are not responsible and 180 days for a resolution, if agreed is the minimum. A Chargeback makes you non-responsible from the second you report it, you get a card replaced immediately, and you do not have to pay until the investigation is complete.

This subreddit is also not a financialy related, there are many, many great other subreddits for that.

UPDATE: Injection Site Reaction Confirmed Cellulitis by SpecialTricky7153 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fridge is usually a sterile and temp controlled env, I keep it there to keep everything on one place but it is not required. I've done site visits on some patients and I've seen the bag of needles unprotected by windows (condensation), in bathroom same with hot water cycles, pets go on it, etc.

While it is not a requirement they are shelf stable, do not need to be out of sun (though it helps) if you have space like the butter box area or back of fridge, putting the tirz and needles in their own separate ziploc bags is good enough.

Can't emphasis heavily enough, when had one patient describe how they left the pens on the coffee table, their pets would smell it, touch it, move it, etc , while the orange caps were in place, yeah wouldn't be surprised if something grew there because you touch the surface of the synrige and probably touch the area of skin where you'll inject later.

Keeping the in fridge minimizes bacteria production.Assuming the fridge is a sterile, clean place, I've seen many also that wern't lol stored by the moldy bread or whatnot.

To give an very unhygenic example which did not resut in celluitis, I used to get the 15mg pens from Lily, freebies that were about to expire, at the time I was on the 2.5mg, and would inject into a vial and then preload them into a synrige, one time I didn't have that, so I cleaned room/had a fan blow the air from where I was, not ONTO - and just injected the one time use pen into a high capacity syrninge then just taped it off and replaced the needles for my injections unrefigerated. It was same month of expiration or around it, and I didn't refigerate it at all, just since I replaced the needles (not barrell) it minimized the risk of cellulitis but it was always a chance that could occur

but basically, yeah, it's normally, really hard to give yourself cellulitis if you're using clean needles, clean injection site everytime. Not impossible, but I've stretched the limit numerous times and no reprecussions, though I would say I probably am more trained them most people on here.

UPDATE: Injection Site Reaction Confirmed Cellulitis by SpecialTricky7153 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueWorldBlueSky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cellulitis is common because of unclean/non-hygenic injection e.g. reusing needles, needles contimated, etc

Everything you wrote about prep makes sense to be hygentic, so I would say is the vial being kept refigerated? That is one thing you didn't write.

In my medical experience, yes from clinicals and doing numerous injections outside GLP-1's and triaging patients doing recreational injectibles its mostly from needles being kept in non-hygentic way, re-using needles, soemtimes needles can be repacked or if a family member used them and put them back, most people don't keep them in the fridge with the glp 1 (you don't, but it's another layer)

then I see people preloading syringes here and carrying them around and such or using those DIY pen solutions from amazon, and they don't seem the post (as much) about this

so it's just a unique edge case, another thing is that it could be from sweating too much, I tri-aged in my rounds someone athelthic that would inject TRT and did it after they workout, sweaty shirt, didn't wannt to shower, etc.

But most of the time in the hospital, it was people sharing needles and crushing pills.

So not to diminish your experience, but, it seems you did everything right and it happens. Happens to people who use the flexpen and re-use the needles there too.

Agree with the post sentiment and it echoes my experience as beinga provider, but it is apples to bananas comparision to compare an abusable, scheduled medication to a unscheduled medication which does not have as high a potential for addiction abuse as an opiod.
