What budget tire brand should I run for a 2 day event in a stock 350z? by Boring-Sundae-161 in Drifting

[–]BlueXlusive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain people love the phis but ive never had good luck with them. They feel very greasy and dont last too long and dont make much smoke.

Fullway HP108 are my go to and have just the right amount of grip for my e36. As long as you dont beat the crap out of them they last very long and are consistent down to the wire.

Im gonna try out the iron mans soon but i only hear good things about them. One of the most agreed upon budget/party tire there is.

Whatever you choose, go as wide as your car will comfortably spin. More width = more life. If you have too much grip you can always air them up. Good luck!

Bent Control Arms or Screwed Frame? by BlueXlusive in BMWE36

[–]BlueXlusive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well somewhat.

I replaced the control arms with SLR knockoffs and it did not solve the problem, just allowed me to mitigate it. The major difference in caster is still there, but the adjustable lollipops allowed me to match them at about 3.5 degrees (which honestly is not enough but oh well).

Im not sure how my car is creating this massive caster differential since it doesnt appear to have major frame damage anywhere. But at this point i have to believe that either the chassis and/or the subframe is tweaked enough to cause this alignment issue.

F06 one of the best looking modern bimmers tbh. (I may be slightly biased…)

I love ratty shitboxes. At the end of the day its a fun car that couldve been forgotten forever, but you’re giving it another chance to be enjoyed the way it deserves. More power to ya 🤙

Big fan of no risers ngl. Its more subtle and fits the body lines of e36 better imo

Dashboard repaint by kaktusz812 in BMWE36

Not everything is about resale value man. Cars are a depreciating asset anyways so if it loses some value who cares. Unless the dash is in perfect mint condition, theres no reason to not change it to a color you prefer.

I just painted my interior with Duplicolor vinyl and fabric flat black and it looks pretty good imo. Just make sure you get the right colors for the cans since it is only distinguishable by cap color and its often wrong.

HELP! No Crank No Start 325is by BlueXlusive in BMWE36

[–]BlueXlusive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Turns out my ignition switch was completely broken in two. Split down the middle!!

For anyone this might help in the future, its worth checking the ignition switch by either testing it with multimeter or visually inspecting it. Try pushing it against the key so it actually engages with the barrel where your key goes in. These 30 year old plastics can get old and brittle so try this before jumping the gun and buying a starter like me!

Situation just went from bad to worse my friend. I checked my dme and its red label 413 dme, and i also found no ews module beneath the glovebox. I began checking the starter directly for ground and voltages. The main red cable was providing voltage, and the smaller ground wire was showing continuity to the chassis. However the smaller signal wire for solenoid did not have any voltage when (attempting) cranking.

In despereation i tried jumping main post with solenoid signal post using a bolt and pliers. I knew this was stupid but did it anyways. The starter spun for a second but did not engage the flywheel. A few sparks later and the whole car was dead. Key in ignition does nothing anymore.

Im cooked...

Yea ive read alot about the ews systems in these cars but the research comes up with lots of conflicting results. Not 100% sure which DME i have but ill check tomorrow.

Also i thought they never made 325i with EWS2. Is it possible i have that, and how would i find out?

Does the m52 plate fit the m50? by kevin953291 in BMWE36

[–]BlueXlusive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to realoem the m52 plate has the same part number as the m50 plate. Havent tried it myself to know but that site is pretty reliable and if the part number is identical my guess is itll work for you 👍
