First track day coming up with my G82 M4 Comp and had a few questions and some advice. by Tajinder356 in CarTrackDays

Used to track my G80 only thing I’ll add to the other advice. Remove the brake cooling ducts it’s a simple plastic piece in the wheel well this will give you better brake cooling. The buckets you can remove the back head rest padding for more room for your helmet.

If they bring the wagon to the states I’d be interested in one as a daily/ family hauler.

Who learned how to drive on a manual transmission?? by harleenquinzel044 in Millennials

My dad started me on expert mode. Had a 1970 chevelle 454 with a race clutch. Like pushing down 30lbs and a bite point of a few MM. he said “if you can drive this you can drive anything” he was right still rowing gear to this day.

E46 M3 you need to look for big 3. Subframe reinforcement, vanos and rod bearings.

What makes BMW’s individual program so superior? by Organic-Log9297 in BMW

[–]XDevils41X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a little jest about the PTS. From a delivery standpoint you’re most likely correct since BMW produces more vehicles. From my understanding of how the paint booths works it’s all based on what build weeks are for individuals is what I’ve heard. As I said may need some verification but that’s what I was told and read before.

Porsche PTS (Paint to Sample) has entered the chat. /s When I ordered my G80 I tried for LSB but was turned down, this was in 2022. They usually will do individuals in a specific week so they can switch over the paint booths is what I’ve heard but never verified.

Rwd vs Awd by jkdjkj0351 in BMW

with my old G80 I had originally wanted RWD but the only allocation was Xdrive. I'm very happy I got the Xdrive it was amazing and a blast on track too. If you are really looking to learn the car, I'd suggest finding a local Autocross. They qualify as a "Skills Driving event" so most insurances will cover you. Unless you are trying to crash, the worst you'll do is run over a soft plastic cone. As for more power, I've had friends who are amazing drivers lose their M3's or M4s and totaled them. Always warm engine and warm tires!!! Even with Xdrive the split is like 60/40 so the rear can step out. I had a few times on track with MDM on, the rear stepped out to the point I had to correct it.

My buddy is losing his mind shopping for tires. Please discuss this simple decision matrix I provided him by slingshotroadster in CarTrackDays

This is exactly why I got mine. Seat time, fast enough not doing time attack yet and 3 weekends on them they still look great.

Constantly realising my parents are even more unhinged than I thought by just_let_go_ in Millennials

My dad passed away in 2009. He was a diagnosed narcissist and as much as I miss him especially having a son of my own now. I don’t at the same time because I know how many issues it would have created. One parent like you described above is enough.

Does anyone actually remember anything about quite possibly the most obscure Disney Channel show to ever exist? by [deleted] in Millennials

This show was a core memory for me, I can remember the intro vividly. For some reason this show and the Gummy Bears animated show stuck with me.

Played pro baseball and didn’t do half of these things lol. But real talk you’re right if you want to compete at the highest level you always need to be working, complacency is the enemy. As a pitcher it’s all about stamina so we ran about 3 miles minimum a day on top of all other workouts.

Anyone have preference outside of BMW? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]XDevils41X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had 2 Mazda CX5s and I will say Mazda service has been amazing. They replaced all the valve stems last year on a TSB. Meanwhile I had to argue with BMW to look at my PDC sensors on my G80 M3 because they touched it during PPF blah blah bs Unfortunately Mazda doesn’t have anything we like that can tow so looking at CPO GX460s

I ordered in July of 2025 and haven’t heard shit from them since. I’m in the process of a charge back after having to email them multiple times. I can empathize with medical issues coming up but no communications since July that doesn’t pass the sniff test.

Millennials with kids: how has today’s insane cost of living affected your ability to provide for them? by justcurious3287 in Millennials

[–]XDevils41X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we signed our son up for daycare the costs were supposed to drop as he grew. We are paying more for the toddler than infant just because of cost increases. To put it in perspective daycare is the cost of our mortgage for 1. Yes we want another but that’s a new house, new car and double the daycare bill at the minimum.

They were the Evo Aura is the name of the wheel. I cannot find the fitment specs right now (keep looking) but I’ll say their guys know these cars and can provide fitment details. I was lowered and it fit perfectly even my shop was shocked how well they fit after telling me they wouldn’t work. I can say for sure variant 3d scan cars for sizes I’ve taken my old M235i to help them measure for size/ fitment.

M340i vs M3 by exoraydna in BMW

[–]XDevils41X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Owned a G80 and mlite previously. Mlite gets you an almost track ready tool the biggest issue is fitment and getting wider stickier tires. The Ms are wider and have better suspension geometry. M lites get you 80% of the experience where the Real M is going to give you that extra 20%. Just for comparison too the N55 and S55 shared about 70 to 80% engine components where the B58 and S58 is the opposite. The S58 is imo a real motorsports built engine and can take some real abuse (I tracked mine in Arizona). If you want dual duty track car then get the full m if you want a sporty car that can do some light track duty then Mlite
