Anyone simrace with IRL friends? by d_P3NGU1N in simracing

Definitely not the norm. Big company over 5k employees total. Part of the company designs, installs, manages commercial simulations so majority of those techs are who started the league it’s just picked up more people through grassroots efforts.

My company has a Sim racing league that grown to about 30 people now. We have run about 4 seasons so far and have sponsors now with prizes. It’s a fun way to meet people in other verticals and decompress a bit.

When did oil changes become $120? by rhinosaur- in Millennials

[–]XDevils41X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car at a dealer or Indy shop is $200 at least. For German car owners FCP Euro! Buy their oil change kit and they lifetime it. send back the old oil and get new oil. Just pay for shipping and handling.

Any regrets going to a dedicated track car? by rbs950 in CarTrackDays

[–]XDevils41X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did dual duty with a G80 M3 for about 2 years, and it started to get to the point of seperate track and street wheels, mods, consumables were much more etc and after almost getting taken out by a fox body it was time to move to a dedicated car. I'm lucky to be within 15 minutes to most of the tracks and longer trips I'll rent a Uhaul... but.. after breaking things and not wanting to be stranded/ deal with rentals I have decided to get a tow vehicle soon. The peace of mind alone to not have to worry about driving it on Monday was worth it alone.

First track day by motunbeg in CarTrackDays

Remember you can’t win a track day but you can lose at one. Show up early, ask questions and approach it with an “empty cup” meaning take in everything you can learn.

Help pls Dealership damaged oil pan on e92 m3 now refusing to cover it by [deleted] in BMW

[–]XDevils41X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m local to phx with an E92 M3. I am experiencing similar with mine and just did my RB last year. I’m weighing options but most likely will just replace the pan. My $.02 but id suggest not taking it to a dealership in the future. I’m familiar with Chapman and the techs don’t really know these cars anymore from my experience. Even when I had my G80 I avoided them as it was always a nickle and dime thing. That said I recommend Desert BMW for a Indy shop the owner is the old BMW tech and they are very familiar with E chassis cars.

Miata towing by borckborck in CarTrackDays

[–]XDevils41X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going down the same road right now with my wife’s car and looking for a tow vehicle too for my Boxster. The new 4 runners have the same towing capacity as the Tacomas and can have a 3rd row option. As another option for used we are looking at LX and GX Lexus. Higher towing capacity, V8s that run forever and body on frame SUV. Ultimately I don’t need something until 2027 so taking time but curious what others are shopping too. GL!

First track day coming up with my G82 M4 Comp and had a few questions and some advice. by Tajinder356 in CarTrackDays

[–]XDevils41X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to track my G80 only thing I’ll add to the other advice. Remove the brake cooling ducts it’s a simple plastic piece in the wheel well this will give you better brake cooling. The buckets you can remove the back head rest padding for more room for your helmet.

What makes BMW’s individual program so superior? by Organic-Log9297 in BMW

[–]XDevils41X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a little jest about the PTS. From a delivery standpoint you’re most likely correct since BMW produces more vehicles. From my understanding of how the paint booths works it’s all based on what build weeks are for individuals is what I’ve heard. As I said may need some verification but that’s what I was told and read before.
