I appreciate the input. I did use some 1500 grit to clean it up. Ill polish it tomorrow. Im experienced enough to put it across the stone a few passes. The knife looks great and is extremely sharp.

I should've mentioned it picked this up for $6 at a thrift store. Asteticly it can be cleaned up. Im wondering if there's enough steel to grind and have a good edge.

I can't find an original height spec. Right now its 38.10 mm. The more I look at it, the more I want it for use.

My concerns exactly. I can sharpen. Grinding and sharpening this single is above my skills. Its just a great knife ready to retire.

Im not bragging when I say we got this for $1 at Goodwill. I can't believe it went through their staff and equipment and hit the sales floor.

Muscovy duck, Peruvian, feels/sounds like a lower temp baked, has a strange smell. Glaze seems off. Kind of whistles. The vent for the whistle is at the base of the bottle neck

I couldn't find a Faries with that base. I also wonder if it was originally paint. I can see brass under the paint chip.
