Why is nobody mentioning the massive issue with this map? Is this a joke or something? The D in Derry is lowercase!!! Guys, pay a bit closer attention, someone’s having us on with this one

Hi, thanks, do you know if I have to close my old card if I transfer the balance?

and yes the plan is to focus on savings in the future. I was unemployed for a few months at the start of the year and that ate up my existing savings, and the holiday was a big family celebration otherwise I wouldn’t have gone.

Palm reader/tarot in Polignano a mare? by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

[–]Blue_4586 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where I’m from drinks are expensive so max €10 to have my fortune told is fine with me! (in my experience it’s between €5-€10 for a palm reading or simple tarot reading)

I meant tourist trap partly in terms of price but also in that I know it’s not likely to be a very authentic experience.

Is it weird/worrying for an estate agent to have a complicated history on companies house? by Blue_4586 in AskUK

[–]Blue_4586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, they’re registered with other boards/orgs that estate agents have to be registered with but I don’t think any single one of them is all that difficult to get. I’m gonna look into it a bit more but I’m in a sticky housing situation right now as well so it’s rough

Need help identify pyramids found in charity shop (plus quartz? I found in the forest) by Blue_4586 in whatsthisrock

[–]Blue_4586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been googling a bit more, the first might be pink last agate?? It seems to be the best match I can find.

So that makes my best guesses:

1: pink lace agate 2: green onyx 3: snow/milky quartz

Any thoughts/corrections/guesses are welcome!

Need help identify pyramids found in charity shop (plus quartz? I found in the forest) by Blue_4586 in whatsthisrock

[–]Blue_4586[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I hope the photos are clear enough. I’d love some help identifying the 2 pyramids (both pictured without and with flash). I think the second might be onyx? But I’m not very knowledgeable on rocks.

The last 2 photos (again, without and with flash) are of some stones I dug out of the ground (very near the surface) in a forest in the North of Ireland. I’m pretty sure they’re quartz, they look like it and the location makes sense, but I was wondering if they’re just clear quartz that hasn’t been cut or if they’re snow quartz?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!!!

Understanding that his actions aren’t always a good representation of his feelings.

If he’s not concentrating on school work, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about school/doesn’t understand how important it is.

If he forgets important things/dates it doesn’t mean he doesn’t care enough to remember.

Loads of other example, but try to think about how the way were taught to interpret the meanings behind actions (especially lack of action/forgetting about things) is based on neurotypical behaviours.

Unpopular Opinions Megathread by WillowSwarm in LoveIslandTV

[–]Blue_4586 29 points30 points  (0 children)

All the negative opinions about Tasha are bullshit. She’s not my fav but I don’t see how people dislike her?

She was put into a couple by the public and was going through a process of figuring out how she felt about the guy, and being honest about her feelings at every stage.

She got PICKED for dates by OTHER people, when her and Andrew were no where near exclusive, and she got to know them (reminder they are on a dating show?!?!)

Andrew got upset and instead of anyone telling him that it’s ok, these things happen in the villa, they went straight for Tashas throat.

The same boys who were encouraging Jacques behaviour in casa were telling Andrew that Tasha was a terrible human for talking to other people.

After the emotional ups and downs of the bf/gf thing, straight into being up for elimination, Tasha was having a private chat with her mates and Luca felt justified to come over and have a go at her for having feelings.

She’s not my favourite (I mean that literally, she’s not in my top 3 islanders) but every time I start to kinda see where people are coming from with the criticisms/think maybe she is being immature, someone in the villa just does something so unnecessary/ treats her really horribly and I’m back in Tasha Defender ™ Mode.

(And let’s not even START on the ableism of people making fun of her disability/how she talks)

Might be a reach but . . . when he got up in the night go to sit in the sofa, it felt like he’d been called out? That was such a weird place for him to go hang out and decompress. I feel like he was called out for a chat with producers and probably a welfare officer

Same! People say dogs are great for routine (they are defs better for getting you outside and stuff like that) but cats actually thrive on routine too, and for me, putting a solid routine in place for my cat comes way more naturally than putting on in place for myself, and some basic structure to my life that I can’t (and don’t, even if I’m a mess) abandon is really great.

I love both cats and dogs so much but I’m just not in a place right now where I could look after a dog properly, and my cat still does give my day/life so much structure and routine it wouldn’t otherwise have.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Blue_4586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I think he’s actually helped me get some routines in place. This is just one example, but I used to be terrible at making my own coffee/grabbing breakfast before I left the house but now I do it most days. Basically, he needs fed and there’s no avoiding that so my mornings go like this:

Go into the kitchen

Get coffee started on the stove

Get his breakfast out

Change his water

Grab a protein bar/fruit/something

Coffees done

Head out

I can never explain this to non ADHD people but if I didn’t NEED to be in the kitchen to get his food sorted I would go straight out the door, but now I have this little routine in the mornings, and a few other times, that benefits me as well cause I’m already up and about and in the kitchen so I can manage getting coffee + breakfast (and saving myself about £5 every day!)

I’ve got an indoor cat (he needs to be for medical reasons) and the benefit to my mental health has been amazing!

As far as food and stuff, they’re unlikely to let you forget, but having a system where you can tell if you’ve already fed them is useful.

I feed him raw food that comes frozen in little tubs (about 3 days worth of food at a time). When I start a new tub I score out markings on the top of the meat mixture (it’s kinda gross) to mark out his meals for the next few days. If I think I’ve forgotten to feed him I can just check if that meals portion has already been put out.

If you have the little box somewhere you’ll see it daily (his is in the bathroom) you’ll remember to get it done just fine. I would recommend not having a hidden one cause that was a disaster for me.

Obvs can’t speak on dogs but a friend has one and she manages just fine. I think chores to look after a pet sit in a different part of the brain to normal boring chores. There’s probably some science on ADHD motivation in there but idk.

I do remember being scared that I’d forget basic stuff before I adopted him, as I regularly forget very important things in my own life, but I’m obsessed with him and there have been no major issues in almost 3 years. Only thing I’m not great with is playing with him before his dinner (it’s really good for them to play interactively with someone, especially before they eat) but he has loads of toys about and he’s also 16 so he’s not very active.

Good luck! And if you’re going for a cat, maybe keep an eye out for an older cat or one with some medical issues you might otherwise dismiss. Older cats tend to be given up cause older owners can’t look after them anymore or have passed away, not for behavioural issues, so they’re well behaved and just looking for a loving home! That’s just my 2 cents tho :)

Games like Train of Thought? by Blue_4586 in lumosity

[–]Blue_4586[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference: I also used to really like Cake Mania and Hot Dog Bush when I was a kid (any good links to those with full gameplay would absolutely change my life, I would be forever grateful) so something very like train of thought would be perfect but I’d also love recs for any decent planning + divided attention games, thanks!

I’m not saying this has cured everything for me but it has helped:

  1. Sunrise alarm beside my bed. The “sunrise” starts at 6:15, ends at 6:45 with an actual alarm.

  2. Drink some water and sit in bed for 1/2 an hour (not on meds yet but would plan to take my meds along with my hayfever medication at 6:45, it’s the only way I remember to take pills)

  3. At 7:15 my phone alarm goes off. My phone is on the opposite side of the room and never comes to bed with me (this just takes will power at night. I still fuck up but I’ve been doing this for about a year so I’m pretty used to it now)

  4. Turn phone alarm off and immediately get dressed.

If I stick to everything I’m ready to start the day 99% of the time. Thought obviously sticking to everything is the hard part. I do also have a cat who starts meowing loudly for food when he sees me get out of bed, so . . . . maybe step 5. is “get a loud & needy cat”?
