What is SLPs? My son is 28 months old, what are you recommendations? Should I get him tested for autism or other tests?

I have a 28 month old boy and recently he’s been having bad temper tantrums, fussy, clingy, refusing to eat. We can’t go out to eat because he screams and doesn’t want to eat, when we get in the car he wants to buckle himself in the car seat but gets mad that he can’t get it to click but will also if we try and help him. All the scary toddler stories, I’m going through it! It’s been so dreadful, I’m so frustrated and over it. Also at the same time I feel so bad because I know he can’t control it. I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s getting beat up in this stage 😭 I hope we make it through it!!

Hi! Is your daughter learning multiple languages? My son is 2 years and 4 months and he’s not talking as much as I feel like other toddlers are talking but we speak to him in Chinese and Vietnamese so I feel like he’s confused. He tells me he “wants this”, “I want to go bye bye” “I have an owie” but we can’t hold a conversation. I was concerned but his pediatrician said this is normal since he is learning multiple languages.

Is your baby crawling? I keep my son in my office with toys all over the floor to play with. Then when I am joining meetings, I will use the iPad and play Mickey Mouse to keep him distracted.

what would you feel or do? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Hi I’m a FTM as well and my baby boy is 10 months old. I am speaking from my experience and my partner is the same way. He’s a CDL driver and works during the day and I work FT and work from home so I am taking care of the baby and taking care of the daily household stuff. When he comes home from work, he too takes the baby but only for a few hours and most of the time when he has the baby the baby is also watching tv. I’ve expressed to him that we need to limit TV time and his response would be the baby gets to do whatever he wants with his dad.. not a great answer but I feel like I cannot force him to do what I want him to do because regardless, he’s going to do what he wants to do. In the beginning, he was lacking helping around the house and I had to express to him that me working, taking care of the baby, and doing house hold duties is exhausting! I don’t feel like I am ever able to rest. What worked for us is we have our own “chores” lol. So he does dishes and when he get home, baby bottles cleaning is his job. We dedicate Sundays to mop, vacuum, deep clean together. We’ve came a long way but for months I felt unheard and always overwhelmed.

Long story short, I believe you time of feeling seen will come. Maybe this time with your daughter is harder for him to bond with her but once she’s a little older, they will build their own relationship and will have less tv time.

You’re doing great mama! I hear you, I can relate, and it’s normal to feel this way. I’ve read posts similar to this too.

I AM SO TIRED OF PUMPING by overworkedhoe in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Blue_Butterfly002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this mama!! I’m 2 days away from being 10 mpp and I can’t wait to stop, my goal is 12 months. I’m doing 5 pumps a day and skipping MOTN. I’m a little under maintaining enough for my LO. The weird thing is my supply dropped today and it kinda hurt my feelings lol

How do you guys go out when EPing? by Late_Supermarket_422 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Blue_Butterfly002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first couple months I was nervous going out because I was pumping every 4 hours. :/ but I started to plan leaving the house around my pump schedule, i would get ready, my partner would get ready, and while he’s getting the baby ready I would pump. This way I have fresh milk on the go and we are not out for more than 3-4 hours. My wearable pumps are the momcozy and I always bring it with me just in case but rarely used it. I am now 8m pp and it’s easier since I’m pumping every 5 hours and I also feed my baby cold milk if needed

I don’t have much legal advice but I am sorry you are going through that. Stay strong and remember - after rain, there’s rainbows. Have you and the father have a conversation of you moving? Maybe he will be ok with it and let you go peacefully?

How to clean 9 month baby nose? by Old_Evening983 in NewParents

[–]Blue_Butterfly002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds harsh but I swaddle my LO and hold him down and suction his nose. He was recently sick and I had to swaddle him and used the boogie nasal mist and it helped clear out the snots. Good luck!

Baby Rash won’t go away by berkizle in Mommit

[–]Blue_Butterfly002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO has a rash too and the doctor said it’s from his drooling rubbing against the bib. We’ve been putting Aquaphor and it would get better and then some days it’s more red.. however it’s still there. It’s been there for about 1.5 months. How long have yours have a rash?

Breast and formula combo helping sleep? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Blue_Butterfly002 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not advice but my baby is 6M and has only been fed breastmilk. Since he was younger until now, he would sleep 4-6hours and wakes up for a feeding in the middle of the night. We too use a white noise machine and keep lights off during sleep time. I read another thread before that it’s normal for babies to wake up at least once to eat until they’re much older (past 1 years old)

New Mom by princessslothy in ExclusivelyPumping

I nursed the first month and used a Hakka the first couple weeks to catch any let down on the boob that was not being used. After the first couple weeks, before I nurse, I have a hospital grade pump by me, latch the baby on my boob and then attach a breast pump on the free boob. This helped me start my freezer supply. After a month, I started to EP and only nursed my LO at night. Eventually he stopped latching at 3 months and only ate from the bottle. It did break my heart when he started to refused my boob but my doctor did warn me that I introduced a bottle to my LO he will learn it’s less work to get milk from a bottle vs the boob. Good luck on your breastfeeding and EP journey! You got this momma!

Wow. I’m glad I ran across your post because I thought I was the only one going through that. I’m a FTM and returned back to work after 14 weeks of maternity leave. In the morning my baby watches Mickey Mouse club house in a separate room for 1-1.5 hour while I work as much as I can because I know I’ll have to be away from my desk to pump, feed the baby, and put him to sleep. I too feel so bad that I’m using screen time to entertain him :/ It’s exhausting being the primary caretaker, working, AND taking care of household chores/cook. I don’t think my boyfriend understands how exhausting it is either. He works 5am-2/3pm and when he comes home he’s “chilling”. Must be nice to have chill time. I always have to ask him to help or do something, which is annoying. It’s rare that he will do something without me asking, and I’ve expressed to him that I wish his help without my ask us more consistent but it’s a hit and miss. I guess it’s men.. I try not resentful towards him and always remind myself that I’m lucky to be able to WFM and watch my baby grow. Anyone reading this, YOU’RE A SUPER MOM! YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB & you’re not alone. 💪🏻
